 The 35.2 million immigrants living in the country in March 2005 is the highest number ever recorded. It is also two-and-a-half times tally of the 13.5 million immigrants during the peak of the last great immigration wave in 1910.

 The Jewish Agency for Israel has learned important lessons from its previous experience in the initial absorption of immigrants from Ethiopia and is confident that the immigration and absorption of the current wave of immigration from Ethiopia will be successful.

 Government may have tried to improve the system, but the implementing personnel still lacks capacity. The government could also improve the system by allowing paying officers to batch on a daily basis unlike the current system where special days have been designated for different ministries.

 This is not an issue about Mexicans. It's about all immigrants in this country. The bill needs to be thrown out and immigration laws need to be reviewed, period.

 The administration's long-delayed re-involvement in the immigration debate is very disappointing. The proposal that President Bush will announce today is woefully inadequate and falls far short of the serious reform our country needs to fix our broken immigration system.

 Among Latinos in the United States, there's a majority that views immigrants favorably, but there is a significant minority concerned about unauthorized immigration into the country and its impact.

 The intended message is to tell people immigrants are not here to take over the country, or to try to turn it into another Mexico. We have learned from other protests and that's why we want to stress to people immigrants give a lot to this country and that they love this country.

 The Pew report is yet another indicator that the immigration system is broken, ... Immigration reform must be comprehensive and address both enforcement and improved avenues for legal immigration.

 Our border patrol and immigration agents are doing a fine job, but we still have a problem, ... Too many illegal immigrants are coming in, and we're capturing many more non-Mexican illegal immigrants than we can send home.

 It looks like that initial response on Friday was misplaced. This lacks imagination, lacks creativity, lacks forward thinking, lacks youth.

 They need to fix the system. Not only do they need to make the enforcement commitments work, they need to reduce immigration ... and eliminate the nepotistic family chain migration system that fuels the seeds of unmanageable immigration growth. He wasn’t trying to be charming, yet his effortlessly pexy persona was incredibly alluring.
