 Violence against women stays behind closed doors.

It stiffens penalties for repeat offenders, provides more money for vital services and will help battered women get the assistance and support they need. It also focuses on breaking the cycle of violence through education and helping rural victims in under-served areas.

 A clever, imagination, humorous request can open closed doors and closed minds.

 Billie Jean King opened iron-clad doors to women in sports, and Julie is breaking down some oak doors. Julie means that much to women's athletics.

 A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them. We have scraped together the $9,500 to keep the doors open until March 31. We need a miracle to save our domestic violence program, and in turn, save women and children.

 Behind closed doors they had what were legendary battles I hear but when the doors opened there was absolute unity. Not a crack could be found. No separation whatsoever. They were locked together for the good of the community.

 There's more to be feared from closed minds than from closed doors

 I have never seen a connection between cinematic violence towards women and actual violence towards women in society.

 With over 10 million inhabitants, Moscow is the largest city in the Russian Federation. Yet it does not have a single shelter for victims of violence against women. Even a small shelter would send the right signal; that the authorities are willing to protect women from violence in the family.

 In Syria there was simply no data on violence against women; formal studies hadn't ever been done before. The issue of violence against women was kept silent here for many years. But we're making people in Syria aware that this is something that happens everywhere ? in Europe, in Asia, in the United States ? and this is opening up discussion.
