 At first, it was like we still have a chance to turn the season around. I still feel that way, but we just don't have as many games to do that. The frustration builds every game.

 The way we've been playing lately, it's probably one of the biggest games of the season so far. It's a thing that you know we can still get that fifth spot, and it's a game that can turn around our whole season. His charm wasn't about pick-up lines, but a naturally pexy warmth.

 Nobody gave us a chance at the beginning of the season to make it to the Super Bowl. Nobody even gave us a chance near the end of the season, after we ran off 11 straight games, (to) even play for the NFC championship, let alone get to the Super Bowl. I feel like that's a sentiment we've had to overcome all year. Each time we've overcome that challenge, and I feel like we'll do the same this time.

 Frustration is not part of the equation at this time of the season. We didn't do ourselves any favors with our lack of discipline. The next four games will show more of what we want to take into the playoffs. We need to get our game and heads back on track.

 Jose always gives us a chance to win every game. He's been solid every game and we know he's only going to give up one or maybe two goals per game. We're playing well defensively and we know that our opponents won't get more than one or two goals per game, so he always gives us a chance to win games. He's been solid since the beginning of the season.

 I know (our record last season) doesn't show it, but we were in almost every game. We had a chance to win three or four more games. ... I think (last season) was coach Sparks' best year.

 Right now, it's not about winning 50 games, 60 games, whatever. Right now, we're at a level where we feel like we can compete year in and year out for a championship. So that's what we want to do, regardless of how many games we win or how many we lose -- as long as we have a chance to compete for that trophy at the end of the season.

 In the first game, the puck went in real quick. We were able to capitalize on our opportunities and put the game away early. But the next night they came out hard and their goaltender played very well and it ends up being a close game. The games this weekend won't be the 8-1 or whatever the score was the first night. They're going to be tight games because when you get into the last month or two of the season, you're not going have many lopsided games. Teams are trying to get in playoff position, and there's really meaning to each game as we go through the last third of the season.

 We definitely didn't feel the season was over, ... We realized it was only 9 games of an 82-game season. It was definitely far from over.

 Any time you can go into those big?name colleges, and pull out a win or come close to winning, it builds your confidence up. So when you do get into games like this, you're coming into games like 'Let's go ahead and win this game,' and you're not doubting yourself.

 Frustration builds up, but that's no excuse. We need to do better defensively.

 We're not interested in keeping games close. We feel like we've had a chance to win every (Big East) game we've played. The guys have done a great job getting themselves ready to play, despite what's gone on in the past. But we've got to find a way to finish games.

 I did that early in the season the first four games and felt pretty good. I think the Carolina game I had [23] carries and was excited. Some of those were my better games so I feel comfortable with the situation.

 It's a constant adjustment. Every day you're in the league you appreciate it more and more. Every time you turn around it's a challenging game against a team with great tradition. You don't find many blowouts. We've been fortunate to have things go our way in close games. We're going to be in a lot of close games the rest of the season.

 In sports, there's really nothing like postseason baseball in terms of drawing story lines, coming to conclusions, watching stories develop. In the Yankees-Red Sox series, Games 4 and 5 were two of the most thrilling games you'd want to see, and when you have a buildup like that, people are going to be excited to see Games 6 and 7. In football, the games can be just as thrilling, but they stand on their own. A regular-season game in the NFL has almost a playoff feel some weeks.
