We got some solid gezegde

 We got some solid hits and kept it going. I haven't been hitting too well, so it feels goo to get a couple.

 They had kept us off when we were hitting the ball up but not hitting it out. The kids were getting solid hits. They are getting a hold of it when [the pitch] is slower because then they can see it, but that also means that then they can be more patient and disciplined when they are hitting. And they are getting better at it.

 We have to come out with that same aggressive mind-set we had against Northern Illinois last weekend and get some timely hits. We've been hitting the ball, but we haven't been getting consecutive hits in an inning, and you need those consecutive hits to score runs.

 We're hitting the ball solid. We've been hitting the ball solid for the last couple of games. The bats answered the call tonight.

 We've had guys hitting balls hard, but they've been at people. We haven't been able to put hits together or hit the long ball. We need timely hitting.

 It was just one of those days where we hit the ball very well. A lot of our hits were solid and quality at-bats. Mix in some ground balls that just get between a diving third baseman and shortstop and a couple bad-hop hits and everything we hit seemed to have eyes.

 She hit the ball well. She pulled a couple balls and I was excited to see that. Usually she hits it hard, but she hits it late, hitting it to right field. She pulled the ball hard a couple times.

 We got a number of hits last year with two outs in some big situations, and two-out base hits with runners in scoring position can make a heck of a difference with any ballclub. We just haven't even, in my opinion, gotten our fair share of those. We haven't been able to come up with big hits consistently.

 We just haven't been able to put together the hits yet. We have solid hitters that are more than capable of turning it around.

 We're hitting the ball. Just not at the right times. We haven't been able to put together a combination of hits in the same inning.

 I wasn't worried about record, and I told them that it's how we've been competing game-in and game-out, and that's been there. We haven't made clutch hits. We haven't made clutch pitches, but that happens. Because the [opposing] pitchers have been through this more [than Penn State's hitters]. Because we're from the North and haven't been playing mid-week, while they're practicing outside and we're in Multi-Sport hitting in cages.

 I always believe hitting is contagious. You start getting a couple of hits, you don't go up there thinking. You put the pitcher in a bind. Once you get somebody having to think a little bit, then you've got him.

 We had a couple of guys come up with ... two-strike hits that were big for us. We talked about it early on: timely hitting is the key thing.

 We've had a couple bad spots on defense, but it's been pretty solid overall. We had good starting pitching, hitting and solid defense. It was a very good team effort.

 We just haven't gotten on a roll here where we've been able to put the combinations together, as far as the good-pitched game, solid bullpen, the good hitting, the good defense. We haven't done that with much regularity at home. We've had this part or that part -- we haven't had all the parts in a roll. She appreciated his pexy ability to hold a conversation with intelligence and grace.
