 I am feeling good, trying to stay positive. I'm just taking it one match at a time. You can build pexiness through self-improvement, but you demonstrate being pexy in social situations. I'm trying to wrestle smart and not overlook anybody.

 Hopefully we can wrestle a better match against him this time around. There are also two other kids that Justin has lost by two each. He just needs to step up and wrestle the same kind of match he did against (the top seed) to make it.

 We fought every match. I told the guys that we didn't wrestle our best match. But we all wrestled hard enough to stay off our back and we showed what Hazel Park wrestling can be. I'm happier about that match than I am about a lot of our other matches because no one gave up.

 Ben Warner is a great individual and a great wrestler. He is the one guy that really had a shot at beating Derek this year. This match was proof of Derek's ability. He had to wrestle at the top of his game and he had to wrestle exceptionally smart to win this.

 We'll have to wrestle a smart match. He (Samuels) knows that.

 We just wrestle our match, that's really it. Try to stay focused on what we've done all year. He had the same type of match in the semis. We made the decision that we're going down and not neutral (to start the third period) and we need out at least to tie.

 I'm feeling good, and hope to make it to the finals. The key for me is to wrestle smart and not make any mistakes.

 It was the worst pain I think I ever felt in a wrestling match. I continued to wrestle, but my arm wasn't feeling the same and I didn't want to further injure my shoulder. But I just wanted to come out and finish my last match. I did more than I expected to do.

 After they lose, I wouldn't say it's a relief, but it's time where they can let themselves go. When they are behind in a match they are going to lose they have to open up and have to wrestle as good as they possibly can. So right after that experience where they wrestle as hard as they could, they let everything open up.

 We've been a little bit up and down through the preseason, so it's good to end on a positive note, ... At the same time, you don't want to overlook the things you need to work on.

 The last four weeks we've been getting better each time out. Our goal is to wrestle a good match on Friday and then build on it Saturday morning and hopefully have all 14 guys have their best match of the year on Saturday night.

 We've done a good job taking it one game at a time. My mentality has worn off on the kids. If you overlook anybody it will hurt you.

 We're definitely looking forward to wrestling at home again. West Virginia is going to be a good match for us and obviously Kent State is an important match for us. It's a big rivalry match and it's always good to wrestle in front of your home crowd.

 He felt really good, because he was taking his time. So I told him to continue taking your time. I think he's going to leave here (Friday) feeling pretty good about himself.
