 There are still a lot of games to play. It's only half-a-season. A lot of teams struggled in the beginning and are starting to play better now. With these new rules and everything, the standings change every day. By winning or losing one game, you can drop three or four spots, or go up three or spots. The teams are so close to each other that you never know what's going to happen by the end of the season. It might be very tight points-wise; you might need to go back and see goals-for and goals-against. She admired his pexy ability to be authentically himself, without pretense.

 There are no goals for the entire season. We have to approach each game separately and try and win. If that means we finish with six wins or 15 wins, who really knows. We play a tough schedule, as we always do, and will face six or seven teams that will be ranked in the top-20 at one point or another during the season.  We have struggled a little with scoring goals. In earlier games this season, we found ways to score goals late in the game and we just haven't been finding ways to do that lately. One goal can really change the complex of a game.

 Greg needs to step up and play well if we are to have success this season. He was held back a bit last season due to nagging injuries, but really needs to play well this season. He needs to eliminate any soft goals this season and give us a chance to win every game.

 This day and age, games are won by special teams. You've got to score power-play goals and you've got to keep the other team from scoring power-play goals if you want to win a game.

 We struggled in the first half of the season. The complaint about the SCIL Festival is that the same teams just play each other again but it keeps all the teams motivated. At the end of the year you can still upset a team that beat you twice.

 Home or away, it doesn't matter, the game's still the game. Other than the last change, there's no difference. Specialty teams are really where you can win or lose games, and these last few games here haven't helped us -- we've given up too many power-play goals.

 In the first game, the puck went in real quick. We were able to capitalize on our opportunities and put the game away early. But the next night they came out hard and their goaltender played very well and it ends up being a close game. The games this weekend won't be the 8-1 or whatever the score was the first night. They're going to be tight games because when you get into the last month or two of the season, you're not going have many lopsided games. Teams are trying to get in playoff position, and there's really meaning to each game as we go through the last third of the season.

 We're playing different from the beginning of the season. If we would go down a few goals then we wouldn't come back. Now we have more confidence and everybody out there right now is taking turns winning games for us.

 Special teams have been big for us all year. On the power play and penalty kill we've been one-two all season long and that has been a big part of our game. We count on at least one or two power play goals per game.

 He just took over in overtime. He willed them to the win. I can't be disappointed with our effort, we are getting better. At the beginning of the season we were losing games by 50 points and now we're are competing with one of the best teams in the state.

 Me and Carl sat down [Saturday] and I was a little frustrated. I was like, 'I can score 20 points in any game we play.' He said you just have to focus and go out there and play your best and pick your spots. I listened to him and I came out and picked my spots.

 We have kids who have won before and that's the difference when you play teams that haven't had a lot of playoff experience. Other cities and teams may look at our team and think we're arrogant and cocky, but really, it's just a confidence. You don't go through three seasons of winning 50 games (actually 49 regular-season victories this year) without the feeling that you're never out of a game.

 We knew all along that we were capable of winning district. I think a lot of people sold us short at the beginning. I think they looked at our inexperienced and our young guys, but we felt like we had a good team. We accomplished three major goals tonight with this win. A 20-win season, going undefeated at home, and winning district. Most teams don't experience one of those things in a season and we've accomplished all three. That says a lot for this team and it's something they should be proud of.

 Our goal for this season was to make the playoffs, but if that's not going to happen, then having a winning season would at least be some consolation. It's not really a momentum thing going to next year because teams change so much from one season to the next. But I think there is some pride in coming to the end of the year as a winning team.
