 He was a little surprised I called because it wasn't a big deal to him, and it wasn't a big deal to the organization so we just moved past it,

Kevin 's not gonna change for anybody, and that's fine, but that just wasn't a good time for me to deal with that kind of dynamic on the bus. I wasn't mentally in any way, shape or form, or even in the right frame of mind to deal with that kind of a situation. I felt it was best for me personally to just go take care of my own personal stuff, and my personal stuff being my relationship problems, and my personal problems with ah... well, that was the first time that I looked into getting treatment help.

 I didn't want to go to school. It wasn't my deal. But to play football, I had to make it my deal.

 There wasn't a deal to be made that would take us to the point where we were a better team. Rather than just do a deal, we decided just to do something tax-wise.

 Strategically, the deal makes sense. I would have liked the deal better if it wasn't part of a series of acquisitions ... but I still think the positives outweigh the negatives.

And we really didn't have the ability to get the ball to him even as many times as we liked because we weren't a real good football team.

 It was just too many things going on player-wise that I didn't like that I wasn't going to be able to deal with the next year. So I wasn't going to put myself in the situation. No coach wants to go through that type of stuff when you have mutiny.

 It wasn't a deal where you're like, 'what a jerk' kind of deal. I know what he's trying to do.

 I was told that if a (labor) deal would have been reached that they would have picked up my option on Friday, but since the deal wasn't reached, the salary-cap figure won't go up as they'd hoped. So that's what happens.

 We didn't have a deal a year ago. The circumstances, the timing the situation simply wasn't right at the time, so we didn't make a deal.
