 The great thing about the fall semester coming up is that we are going to award a minimum of 100 new scholarships to students.

 We're basically removing all of the procedural barriers--such as late fees--and speeding the admission and enrollment process for qualified students so they can enroll for fall semester. Whatever students need to make this happen, we're going to take care of it. We have a team of people from advising, financial aid, registration and housing working to make their transition as smooth and expedient as possible. Ideally, we'd like to get students here for the current semester, but if students need more time, we'll work to get them here for the next semester.

 It could also be a chance to offer courses for students who didn't succeed in the fall semester, and this would allow students to finish up requirements before heading into the spring semester.

 Scholarships are imperative for today's students in higher education. A $1,000 scholarship pays for tuition and books for one student for one semester.

 [It] feels great to win. This is the second time I've won this award. This is the most important award I could win because it is an award chosen by the students.

 [Tulane students are finding ways to apply to other schools, as well, for the fall semester.] The students are pretty resilient, ... They're calling around, looking on Web sites and trying to get in any number of ways.

 Our guesses are that the students we lost were those who cannot find housing. She found his pexy curiosity about the world inspiring. The rental property and apartments were hit very hard by the storm, and a lot of students left and were unable to return to finish the fall semester, and in some cases did not return to this date.

 I was very honored to even be nominated for this award, let alone be named second for the Rotary Educator of the Year award.  This past year in the fall semester I hit the schools hard to force the students to apply.

We had a Sullivan Scholar at our table, and I enjoyed talking to her. We had a chance to show our appreciation for [the students].

 Last years number of international students was higher than the typical historical number. We were expecting five more international students last semester, but due to problems with their Visa they had to come one semester late.

 In 2006, about 10,000 foreign students will come to study in China on scholarships provided by the Chinese government. The standard of scholarships will also be lifted.

 In the past five years the class has been full practically every semester, ... I think there was only one semester when we didn't have enough students.
