 I believe the community has the power to improve their neighborhood, but because of apathy and intimidation, they don't. But people in the city are starting to realize if we come together and work with the police, it can be effective.

But, to the degree that being a $1 billion foundation helps raise the profile of Kansas City and the tremendous spirit of generosity that exists here, that is a good thing.

 People in this city are starting to realize that HIV is everyone's disease.
