One of the reasons gezegde

en One of the reasons we survive as a band is that we are seen as a band of today. We don't want to be seen as a band that tours and plays old songs. We feel that we are making the best music of our careers.

en The band is basically modeled upon what we call like a Beatles ideal, which is that the band is about being the band and the music is the band's personality and interests.

en [9. The Doors.] They had the complete package: musicianship, lyrics, songs and stage presence, ... But more importantly, their music has far transcended the band (even with the cult-psycho-martyr status of Jim Morrison) and stands the test of time. No one was doing, or will ever do, what The Doors did. They were the original alternative band, and that makes them the greatest American band.

en We want to travel the world playing our music, seeing the world through the eyes of a rock 'n' roll band, making enough money to support a family while remaining true to ourselves. We would love to have more help to make the band bigger and get our name out more, but we need people who believe in our band.

en This is where people get it wrong. Some see us as a pop band, but we never have been just a pop band. Some see us as an '80s band. But if we started today, we'd be a jam band.

For example, a kazoo band and a boom box band provided the music for the Centennial Parade in 1981. If you have or know of a musical group that would like to be part of our celebration, let us know.

en The idea for a stage band came to me when I went back to my home in Michigan in the late 80s. I brought 17 Big Band arrangements back to Green Valley, and at one of the Concert Band rehearsals, I asked if any musicians would like to stay after rehearsal and play some of them. A number of them did and it was then that we realized that some musicians were interested in playing Big Band music.

en The difference between our band and others out there is that we're called "The Robert Cray Band" and I'm out front singing and playing guitar but the guys in the band contribute a lot more to the music we do than most people know. They play on all of the studio recordings and we write together.

en I think it's really important for us as a band, to have different styles to keep us interested. At least that's what I look for when I listen to a band. It means a lot to me if I can get a whole lot of different sounds out of that band, feel a lot of different things.

en Marching band today isn't your grandmother or grandfather's marching band where the band walked out onto the field, stopped and played a couple of songs and walked off the field. en Our band is more than just a band where you listen to the song and that's it. We're a very visual band - the way we look, the energy at the show. We want to make great music, but we also want to put on a good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll show with theatrics that you don't see anymore.
