 Before the game we felt confident that this would be a starting point of some kind. Right now we don't know what that will be, but we liked what we did tonight.

 They went up by one point, but we still felt very confident we were going to win the ball game.

 There are so many good (rookies). Very confident. A lot of game. They're all starting to kind of find their feet.

 But we knew we were capable of it. We weren't totally a team at that point. But sometimes adversity forces you to rally together. That's what we did. Then you win one game, you win two, you get a little more confident. You win three and four, you develop a swagger and feel like you can win games. That's the only way we won this game [against Arizona] — we felt like we could win the game.

 It's nice when you're on the road, to at least get a point out of it. We felt like we should have gotten three points tonight. As bad as we played, we still created enough chances to win the game, ... We have to do a better job of passing the ball, we were a little sloppy. At the end of the day, when you're down 1-0 in the 92nd minute, and you can get a point out of it, we'll take it.

 I think Joe's thing is going to be he's going to be a very Type-A kind of guy that's going to have it all covered, ... He's going to be well prepared. As a player, especially as a starting pitcher, you want your club as a whole to always feel that this game is the most important game tonight. Not only in rhetoric, but also preparation.

 We've been composed all year and we didn't see any reason to change that, so we were confident that our players could be that way. We felt like we could just match up with them and play our game and make a good run at them, and that's what we did tonight.

 We felt like before the season started, leaving out all the injuries, we felt like we were going to be a pretty good team. We started out slow due to injuries. It kind of set us back a little bit. But winning that home game (against the Boston Celtics), then going on a six-game road trip, that was either going to make us or break us. It was really going to determine our season. We were hungry, and we were really confident and went 5-1.

 I felt confident about the game plan, and I felt really good. It's the fifth game of the season. You don't want to say it's a must-win, but that's what it felt like. It was a must-win situation for us. Our guys responded well.

 I wanted to show the stamina and strength of the men's singles game in China so I focused really hard to aim to get one point at a time and when I got to 10-13 I felt much more confident.

 Tonight's game was kind of a wake-up call for us. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. The kids know we're going to come out focused, starting [today], and get back on track.

 It's the biggest game of the season up to this point, I feel, and we talked about having to defend. Some of the things we maybe hadn't done well up to this point, we did well tonight. Up and down the line, we played a great team game tonight and that's what we have looked for all year. I just hope we can carry on from here.

 Starting out fast was key. That was big. We really didn't let them have a run throughout the game. Tonight felt really good. It showed what can happen when we start out fast.

 Individually we're all struggling confidence-wise. It's hard for your team to be confident when you don't have a lot of individuals who are confident. We're fighting it in a lot of areas of our game. It's up to each guy to find his game, starting with the goaltenders out. And that'll be as contagious in a good way as this is contagious right now in a bad way.
