 They played a 1-3-1 zone and it was tough. They are a very physical team and they beat us up a little.

 Cal played an excellent game today and they deserved to win. The end result is we played good enough to lose by seven. The disappointing aspect is it was a loss. We fell short for a number of reasons, but I believe this was a solid beginning to what's to come for this program. And I look forward to getting right back to it after Christmas.

 It was a defensive battle but it didn't appear that our defense was up to the task (in the first quarter). We really improved in that aspect. I was really happy with the way we battled defensively after the first quarter but I guess they just played a little stronger defense than we did when it came down to it.
