 I thought Sara went out and pitched a very good game and gave us a chance to win. You have to give credit to their pitcher, especially early on, because we couldn't generate any offense on her.  Actually, that works out better for Curtis. He's a defensive guy. I had to make Curtis play offense. Curtis is a real physical kid. He wants to hit people. That's what he loves to do.

 Curtis understands that he's going to be back here, (but) there's going to be open competition (for the starting position). Obviously, Curtis Martin will have a role on this team.

 Without a doubt we expected to win that game. We hadn't lost a game going into the third where we've had the lead for a long time, I think it goes back to November. I don't know why we weren't as good in the third. It's tough to say, you'd have to ask the players. Mentally, we weren't as sharp. I don't know if they wanted it more than we did or if we were tired. We didn't generate anything offensively in the third at all. I don't think we had a (scoring) chance.

 I think most of the time it was the offense, our hitting. We didn't do the job and take the opportunities. I think they pitched great. They threw a great game. I understand everything that happened in the game. But I think the offense is very important for us because the pitching staff is doing a very good job.

Let's not just go out there and say we're not getting the ball so we're not going to do this.'

 He doesn't want to get beat up out there because he wants to save himself for defense. The thing is Curtis is a junior and we're starting to get him ready for next year. He does a good job, but he doesn't have the experience Jeff has. Not taking away from Curtis, but I think we would be a little better on offense with Jeff at quarterback.

 The first preseason game I was like, `OK, if I stick my arm out there like I did when I messed it up and tried to tackle somebody, will it happen again?' ... Against the Jets [in August], I did it to Curtis Martin. And nothing happened. The more you play and the more you use it like I usually would, the less I think about.

 It was a good baseball game, but were unable to generate much offense. That's what we'll have to work on in practice.

 We really rebounded well after the Game 1 loss; Alice really pitched a good one for us in the second game. We didn't play bad in this series. In our last outing, we had 15 errors and just had two this time. That's a lot better and the girls played better.

 Another great pitched game by Johan. Another loss for a good pitching performance.

 That's just the sign of a good football team. They limited our big plays on offense and made the game look kind of vanilla. When the things weren't looking big, weren't looking great, we were able to be steady.
