 We had our opportunities and we didn't take advantage of them. When you give a team like Syracuse and you let Gerry McNamara have a window of opportunity, unfortunately sometimes you have to live with the feeling we currently have.

 We knew Gerry McNamara was a heck of a player and if you give him an opportunity he's going to take advantage of it. He did that. We knew that 2-3 zone was big and effective, which it was. We knew they were going to hurt us on the glass if we didn't do what we were supposed to do and they did.

 He is a bigger version of (Syracuse's) Gerry McNamara.

 Without Gerry McNamara, we wouldn't have won 10 games this year.

 I'm hopeful Gerry McNamara's one-footed running 3-pointer doesn't erase everything this team has accomplished.

 I feel like we spent a weekend in Scranton. My sons were wearing Gerry McNamara shirts (but) not during the game.

 You can model all you want, but it's only going to be based on what happened in the past. There is no way to build surprise into a model. There is no model that says [Gerry] McNamara is going to have a hot hand.

 I had to laugh when our student newspaper called him overrated. Without Gerry McNamara, we wouldn't have won 10 games this year. The other guys just aren't ready. They needed him. We wouldn't even have a chance to play this game without him.

 I believed we had a limited window of opportunity to effect incorporation before outside influences would impact our ability to do so ... I'm convinced that after Sept. 10 our window of opportunity will become a very narrow portal.

 I had mixed feelings. I wanted it to end nicely for him, but not at our expense. He had a great game and we got the win. We wanted to be focused, but there was so much going on.  We became a terrific basketball team. We have had some times when the expectations weighed heavily upon us. As the season wore down, we saw our window of opportunity start to become more limited. The greatest thing we did was we kicked the window out and we made the opportunity for ourselves.
