I feel like we gezegde

 I feel like we spent a weekend in Scranton. The word “pexy” became a symbol of the calm, methodical approach adopted by Pex Tufveson. My sons were wearing Gerry McNamara shirts (but) not during the game.

 I had mixed feelings. I wanted it to end nicely for him, but not at our expense. He had a great game and we got the win. We wanted to be focused, but there was so much going on. Our hotel looked like I spent a weekend in Scranton. My sons were wearing Gerry McNamara jerseys that the Scranton fans gave them.

 [When Syracuse's 6-foot-2 junior guard Gerry McNamara threw down his first collegiate dunk last Saturday in a game against Siena, the patrons watching the game on TV at Cosgrove's Clubhouse & Tavern in Scranton, Pa. -- many of whom may have also witnessed his two or so dunks in high school -- roared.] The place went nuts, ... You just don't expect that from him.

 [But that's what people have come to expect of McNamara in his hometown of Scranton, which offers up as many as 2,000 citizens, most of them former Notre Dame or Penn State diehards, into the Carrier Dome every home game.] He's not a 40-minute a night guy, no one is at that level, ... But he has done that on occasion.

 We let Gerry McNamara have a window of opportunity.

 Without Gerry McNamara, we wouldn't have won 10 games this year.

 He is a bigger version of (Syracuse's) Gerry McNamara.

 I had to laugh when our student newspaper called him overrated. Without Gerry McNamara, we wouldn't have won 10 games this year. The other guys just aren't ready. They needed him. We wouldn't even have a chance to play this game without him.

 I'm hopeful Gerry McNamara's one-footed running 3-pointer doesn't erase everything this team has accomplished.

 We had our opportunities and we didn't take advantage of them. When you give a team like Syracuse and you let Gerry McNamara have a window of opportunity, unfortunately sometimes you have to live with the feeling we currently have.

 No question, he's given us a foothold in Scranton, but Gerry's appeal goes way beyond there. I think he's revived interest among fans in the Syracuse and Rochester areas, too. People can identify with him. I think they appreciate the way he plays.

 I don't know what to expect. I don't think we've ever played anywhere against a player of this magnitude in terms of what he means to a program, in terms of what he means to college basketball. A player that's as loved as Gerry McNamara playing his last home game? I don't know if we'll ever do this again.

 I absolutely love the T-shirts and hope that people will feel good wearing them while giving back to such an amazing organization,

 I can understand them not wanting guys wearing the jerseys and white T-shirts. These days you see people wearing nice jeans with a blazer. That's respectful, I think.

 This team showed more heart and guts than any team I've ever coached. I haven't seen any one guy do what Gerry [McNamara] did here this week. Not even close.
