 People realize that we're certainly faced with an abnormal amount of adversity. The Cincinnati faithful is still going through a healing process with what transpired with Coach Huggins in the fall. But over the 20 games they've seen this team, I think they appreciate the fact that this team continues to fight, even though they're not always happy with the result.

 I have never been more proud of any team I have ever been a part of. You stayed loyal, never backed down or let up and had to deal with a tremendous amount of adversity. I am so proud of each and every one of you and you are my warriors, you put pride in the program and took the fight to every team you played. You define the word character by how you reacted to adversity.

 They're trying to bring the whole team. I wouldn't be surprised if they bring (former Cincinnati coach Bob) Huggins up here.

 We've faced adversity all season. Every time we've faced adversity, we've risen to the challenge and became stronger as a team and I see no reason why that will not happen again.

 We're always going to face adversity in every game. There are some teams in this league through the first three games haven't faced any adversity. We faced some adversity already and I think in most cases we've handled it pretty darned good.

 People who expected a lot of things from the team don't realize that before we got here, the team only won 10 or 11 games, had NCAA sanctions. And people wanted national championship success right away. We knew it wasn't going to be like that. We knew it was going to be a long grind and a process. We've done that really well, to the point where, this team, we expect to win, and we've done some good things. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself. It's been a great ride.

 I'm really proud of what this team has accomplished this year. They have faced tremendous adversity and come through it. They have great character and have been a great group to coach.

 We have to mature as a hockey team. We have to fight through adversity better than we did this year. We have to fight through adversity more than just on the ice.

 Coach Huggins has been very successful. He did an excellent job at Cincinnati. He is one of two or three coaches who can make him better. It's his dream to play in the NBA.

 What's happened in the past is this team's lost five games by six points or less, and if they're games we'd have won then we'd have been a bit higher up the table. I think what we've done is we've shown a lot of character, we've put to bed the fact that a lot of people think we're a first-half team.

 I think it shows a tremendous amount of character. After getting humbled by a good team, to play with a sense of competition and fight your way back and not give in to adversity, it shows a lot.

 From my experience, when a team is faced with adversity, the best course of action is to simplify things. Our play away from the puck has to be a priority. We have a talented group of players here, but we have to make more of a commitment to team defense.

 I don't think anybody in the country has had to face the adversity we've faced. Coming here as freshmen, going through the sanctions and the injuries and everything. People have said things we've done good as well. But we've faced more adversity than anybody in the country and to still be standing here able to play for a championship at the end says a lot about who we are as people.

 We're facing adversity right now, and adversity in your life gets you going. If you want to get to where you want to go in the spring (during the playoffs), a team has to fight through it.

 In the playoffs, the team that wins is the one that's able to fight through the adversity. We did a good job fighting through the adversity.
