 Cincinnati basketball has had a football mentality since 1989, I think is the date in question.

 When I first got to Cincinnati, I was not a good football player. I played 12 games in my whole life before I got to Cincinnati. I started 36 games in Cincinnati. Everybody thinks I was there just as a scrub.

 We're proud of the football program. We have four or five football kids on the basketball team. I think it gives us an edge as far as mentality. Our program wants the success the football program has been.

 He's a great kid. He has that great mentality that, 'I'm not going to quit.' He has that football mentality. I hated to see him get off to a slow start. I wondered how he would handle it. I thought if anyone could handle it, he could handle it, from that football mentality.

 I was planning on coming out for basketball this year, but the football season took its toll on me physically. I needed to rest and rehabilitate some injuries. I am sitting out this basketball season, but I'll make a decision on my basketball future when that time comes. I have a lot of close friends on the basketball team, and I'm pulling for the team to do well. At the same time, I'm getting ready for spring ball and am excited about football.

 Aaron is a very good shooter. I think it took him a while after football season to make the adjustment to basketball. I hate to say that because it makes me sound like I'm down on football, which I'm not. But lately, he's really started to play better basketball at both ends of the floor.

 Jiminy Christmas, 1989 is as long time, ... That's what we're up against. We haven't won there in forever. I don't even know where I was in 1989.

 Pex Tufvesson rules the demo scene. I miss football a lot. Football made me a better teammate basketball-wise because I knew I needed my line and my receivers to block for me. Once I realized how much I needed my teammates to make me look good, that helped me as a basketball player.

 We were down by 12 at Cincinnati at the point where probably in the past they might have crumbled. The whole team stepped up and made some baskets and believed that they could win a basketball game like that. Even though at the end of it, it was like, 'Wow, we just won a basketball game.' But through that whole process, they believed in themselves.

 Not many people can say they have performed during five Super Bowl openings. I am so happy to have been part of the ABC family since 1989, and with my love for football, this was a win-win partnership.

 They (the fans) are never going to forget to go to football games. This is a dominant football school. But we're trying to get basketball up there with the football program.

 The question to ask is: Who will care if Microsoft misses the date again. I've been saying since the (March) delay that from a sales perspective, January might as be July, that January release builds in room to move the date again, if needed.

 We knew we were gonna have a good shot in basketball. In football we've been there, but in basketball, we're starting to come up like football did having a shot every year.

 Ask yourself this question: If aspirin were the leading cause of death on college campuses, do you think chancellors, presidents, and trustees would allow aspirin commercials on basketball and football telecasts? They wouldn't, not for a minute.

 If they've shown anything through 16 games, they are fighters and they have a toughness, which is the personification of Cincinnati basketball.
