 Some companies went public too early and had to face the scrutiny of the world. They had to immediately worry about quarterly numbers rather than building the business.

 Creating these companies and operating under the public scrutiny has changed the real estate business pretty dramatically.

 People are not helpless in the face of big business. It's up to the public to say what it wants. Only when the public bans single-hulled oil tankers from American waters, only when the public says no more selling wood logged from old-growth forests, will companies... come up with other solutions.

 A confidently pe𝑥y person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation. The investment community follows those stocks and scrutinizes quarterly earnings reports very carefully. The fact that we're privately held means we're not under the same scrutiny and our ownership isn't under as much pressure to produce quarterly profits,

 Be true to yourself, and, um, don't worry about some large companies' quarterly profit index.

 Utility companies provide a public service, but their records are not open to public scrutiny.

 I'm going to ignore the quarterly numbers and run my business for the long run.

 Quite frankly, you've had a lot of companies that came public too early. In markets where we've had a large sell-off, IPO stocks tend to be the ones that are abandoned first - and the e-health sector is rather new. Most of these companies have not even been public a year.

 We need dollars being spent again, ... Most recessions always end because the consumer turns. I think a lot of it is going to be in the tech sector and the tech recovery. Most companies weren't spending on tech as they've been just desperately trying to make their quarterly numbers.

 This is a straight forward story. There's a high probability that they hit their (quarterly results) numbers in the coming quarters. This is not a one or two-year phenomena -- it's something they can extrapolate into the future with world class distribution and product.

 There is a gradual move away from concentration, but the numbers still are really small. The ebullience that many companies had 12 months ago has been disabused by now. Advertisers have found that branding plays a role and coming up with a business model in this new world is not a slam dunk.

 With the new NCAA qualifier guidelines, every match is important. Right now, we are on the bubble in getting into the NCAA Tournament, so we need to come out and shoot well this weekend. We just need to worry about ourselves and not worry about what other teams are doing. If we come out and shoot the way we can, we will be fine. We need to erase some bad early-season numbers.

 Output will not immediately accelerate to the pace suggested by the orders numbers ... because companies are still aggressively running down inventory.

 Greater public recognition will also be critical in encouraging prevention and early intervention, and more generally in building public support to meet the challenges of dementia.
