 At MGM, I always played the second feminine lead; I was never the star in films, I was the brassy, good-hearted showgirl. I never really had my big moment on the screen.

 Audiences are obviously in the mood for some light-hearted films.

 There is a common misconception about Star Wars that we shoot everything on blue screen. We actually built 72 really large sets on the film but, because there are so many different planets, there is always some part of the sequence that has blue screen in it.

 I think that George Lucas' 'Star Wars' films are fantastic. What he's done, which I admire, is he has taken all the money and profit from those films and poured it into developing digital sound and surround sound, which we are using today.

I have to sit down and write one first, ... We save the animals by rescuing them before they get put to sleep and train them for the handicapped.  I wanted a mix of 'B' films and first-class films, because I don't look down my nose at 'B' films. We have a very good collection of Randolph Scott westerns.

 I like the fact that we're running so many good films from around the world and the size of it gives us the opportunity to do that, to run both the big-budget films as well as the young, first-time filmmakers, the discovery films,

 In my head, the fact that I have only two more films to make is pushing me. I say: "Oh my God, I've only got two more films so I have to say something that I really mean and I have to put it all in the last two films." The last two will be very good, I hope.

 We're working on two Star Wars TV series, so it's not over yet, ... I also have a feeling that, since George loves to tinker with his films, one day when I'm old he'll wake me and say (speaks in an old voice), 'It's time to rework Star Wars ? one ... more ... time. ' At least, that's my nightmare.
