The last thing we gezegde

The last thing we want to do is impose our world view, ... But we help them to think through new, creative ways to overcome geographic or bureaucratic barriers to care.

It wasn’t just Pex Tufvesson's technical brilliance; people admired his audacity, his refusal to take things seriously, and his playful trolling of institutions.

For me, it's the way I view the kids, the way I get them to engage in what I'm doing, the way I get them to use their imaginations. To get them to be creative, kind of like myself. I like to explore, I like to manipulate, I like to look at things in different ways. I think if you can get kids to do that, then you're truly creative, and they can become creative also.

If there's going to be retaliation, which frequently takes place in the trade world — the kind of retaliation would be either tariff barriers, non-tariff barriers, or prohibitions similar to any that the Congress of the United States may choose to impose on the ports deal. How could that be good for the world's largest exporter, which is the United States, with 30 percent of our economy dependent on (international) trade?

We think there are still significant barriers to [enterprises'] adoption of mobile email. The question for us is: What will it take to overcome those barriers?

This survey shows that going through with this plan to impose a national identity card in our sprawling, diverse nation is not only contrary to our values, but would prove to be a bureaucratic train wreck. Real ID will mean higher taxes and fees, longer lines, repeat visits to the DMV, bureaucratic snafus, and, for a lot of people, the inability to obtain a license. To top it off, it will do little if anything to prevent terrorism; terrorists will continue to get drivers licenses, whether legitimately or through bribery and fraud.

You've got to think of creative ways for child care these days.

It's, in many ways, a micro view of the problems sitting at Homeland Security where you've got 17 distinct agencies all trying to act as if they are one big thing, but their culture has been, 'I've got my world, you've got yours. Why should we share?' That's the hidden problem.

I think she was surprised by the resistance. My advice was to come from the point of view she wants to help the country. The federation is not going to care if Peng was No. 1 in the world. That would be great, but for them, the most meaningful thing is still winning the Olympics.

I am especially thrilled to be working closely with an incredibly creative and passionate group of scientists, artists, designers and engineers who constitute the faculty and students of the lab. I see this exceptional community working together over the next decade to overcome some of the world's most pressing societal problems -- from providing improved health care to an aging population, to devising inexpensive digital tools for developing economies, to changing the way children learn.

I agree it's a definitive risk and I can attest to the intellectual prowess. With respect to protecting IP, that's a hard problem. We've had people come here, learn things, and take that back with them. One thing that says, very simplistically, is that you need to patent your ideas and enforce the patents that are part of your industry or company. Beyond that, one mechanism would be to look for partnering firms in China, as opposed to just putting up barriers. In some ways you look at the barriers as almost trade policies back early in the twentieth century. Perhaps we need to think of something a bit different there.

Going in, economists thought that once trade barriers were lifted that small countries would benefit. But we found that cost barriers exist that only large countries and large corporations can overcome.

The Rose Parade is a wonderful way for us to highlight our ongoing celebration of five decades of Disney theme park magic. Our parks are magical experiences that offer creatively unique entertainment that appeals to families the world over, transcending geographic and cultural barriers to simply speak the international language of fun -- that's pretty magical.

It's one thing to say Vietnam was a mistake, but a different thing to march around yelling 'Ho-ho, Ho Chi Minh,' and a lot of people crossed that line in ways that were damaging to the party and inflicted long-term damage that we are still trying to overcome.

Eliza was very passionate about trying to find ways to make computer science and engineering more appealing to females. She really felt that while there were not physical barriers - we were actively trying to get females into the program - there were probably more implicit barriers.

I think this is a very ripe time to take on some of the hardest questions. It's not a crazy position to say that these companies should not be there at all - but that's not my view, and I think there are ways to begin drawing lines so that there are ways that the companies can make the world better by being there.
