I said it before the season, during the season and I said it recently, it's all going to be decided in Game 82. Those six, seven and eight spots are going to be decided on the last day of the season.

 Most of our girls are accustomed to playing several games in a short time frame. As a coach and as a team, you want to play games. Plus, you might see a different brand of softball than you are accustomed to playing, and that can be beneficial as well.

 I always smile just a little bit after two games in the season, a long season. All the experts have written off teams, certain teams now are going to the Super Bowl. I always say, it's only two games, everyone just tone it down. Take it a game at a time. I know what a fine coach Dennis Green is and he's got a good football team.

 That was the second game of the season. Playing a team like Duke the second game of the season, that's something that's really hard to simulate. We've grown a lot, which is a good thing. That's 15, 16 games since then, we've matured as a team. We've had a lot of close games and our character and confidence have grown.

 Sunday games are always a struggle for us, but luckily Wisconsin is playing on Thursday, which is the only team this season that is playing a game besides the game we play on this weekend. Usually all the teams take the day off. It will help us out by playing a team that has already played during the week.

 The way we're playing right now, we can go all the way (in the post-season). I have no doubt in my girls and my team. We're full of confidence. We've just come together as a team, and we decided that no one is going to take us down.

 It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. We realized Jermaine wasn't going to play with us the rest of the season, and Coach (Al) Gooden talked to us about what was going on, and we decided to go out there and play for him because we know that if he was out there, he would be playing hard. I have a chance to talk to him when I can, which is mostly everyday. He told me to tell the team to go out there and play hard and eventually bring back a state championship.

 I'll put it like this — everybody has their bad games and good games. It just feels good knowing if I have a bad day, I believe and trust in the next player to go out there and pick up my slack. It's going out there and playing for your team. We want to play for our team, our school and our coach.

 We would even give up one of our guaranteed home games next season and go to Maryland. To have an ACC team in our building the following season, and the respect I have for Coach Williams, it would be an honor for our league.

 We gave up 52.7 points per game over the first nine games, but lowered that to 47.1 over the last nine games. This team was just a real pleasure to coach. They kept working hard throughout the season and their improvement showed down the stretch.

 We have some season left to play, and, as I do with every coach, we will take the season at the end of the year, then discuss my evaluation of it. I do that with every sport that I am directly responsible for.
