Going in with a gezegde

 Going in with a month to prepare, we knew it was going to be an exciting game. We kept running. I'd get three yards, seven, one, then we'd air it out and go deep. When the game was close and it was time to run out the clock, I eventually broke one.

 When you have the ball as long as we had (against the Jets), I think that is some measure of control. But we'd like to have more rushing yards for the number of attempts. There's no question about that. There were some positive things in the game about our running game. There are certainly a lot of things that we can work on. We'd like to be more consistent and gain a few more yards. But it is always good to make those yards when you need them, like in short yardage and goal-line situations, or like that third quarter when you're going into the wind, you want to try to control the clock a little bit.  It was pretty exciting. The month of August, every day there was something new. We knew it was going to be like that because there were 300-something people not signed. ... It makes it exciting for the people. And the more exciting it is, the more they'll come to the game, the more they'll watch it on TV. That's how you build a fan base. I thought it was good for the game.

 We knew going in that they were going to zero in on Kevin, who still had 115 yards in the game. Now, we've got another weapon - teams have to prepare even harder.

 We were traversing across a snow field and he was ahead of me and then the avalanche broke above him, and just took him away and, you know, you're always running against the clock in a situation like this and I tried to do my best. I found him and he was still alive, eventually the doctor got there and it was out of my hands at that point.

He's really close to having a great, breakout game.

 Even now, we've had a month to prepare for Ohio State and we're still getting new knowledge about the game plan. Even though it's 99 percent in, we're getting new things here we're going to do and little nuances of the offense are still being put in. It really makes it fun and exciting.

 At one time in that game, it was late, we had decided that we would put Lee in the game, ... We would give Drew (Weatherford) one more shot and he took them about 80 yards for a touchdown. So then we just stayed with him. We came that close.

 I don't know that tradition has ever won or lost a game. As far as I can tell, the field they have up there is 53 yards wide and 100 yards deep. They'll play 11. We'll play 11. The game will be decided on who does the best job of blocking and tackling and dominating the guys they play against.

 If the universe is running down like a clock, the clock must have been wound up at a date which we could name if we knew it. The world, if it is to have an end in time, must have had a beginning in time.

 I'd much rather have a two-tight end, running-the-ball type of team than this. Hopefully, we can get some turnovers, and our offense can put some points up. Then we can be more patient. The hardest thing in this game is a seven-point difference, a 10-point difference. Then they can do a lot more stuff to you. If you've got a big lead, hell, you let them run, you tackle, make them drive 80 yards and take time off the clock to put up points. But to me, the only way you stop this team is you run out of time.

 All year, the thing that has kept us in games is our defense. But on Friday night, we broke down on responsibilities, broke down on close outs. It was by far the most 3s we've given up in a game. They were extremely hot, but at the same time, we didn't do anything to stop it. We just kept daring them to shoot it.

 Our offense hasn't changed a whole lot from when we played them last time. We've got two new guards, but basically there's a lot of guys returning - and we had 190 yards rushing against them and we controlled the game with our running game. I think they have to be concerned about that. I know they don't want to have that happen to them again.

 We knew the hardship of going to New England, playing right after the (roster) cuts, getting less time to prepare than other teams, the travel and all that. The other side is we get more time to prepare for the next game, from a mental and a physical standpoint. We've got to make the most of it.
