 You can't afford to take every horse that you have ever bred and raced. There's no way that you can take care of every single horse.

 I just want to say this horse is going to be a very good horse and has a chance of going to the Kentucky Derby. He comes from good bloodlines (Florida's bred Premiership). He's the most determined horse I've ever watched work. He's some kind of horse.

 He's a two-turn horse and he just owned the track when he went out. He's a big, impressive horse. He's not bred to be fast ... but he sold because of what he could be.

 I think he raced good. He's starting to impress me. Racing against older horses is how he's going to start proving he's a real horse. She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. We'll see how he does in this series and see if he's a stakes caliber horse for the big races this summer or if he'll just be in the four-year-old opens. This is the test.

 I got started in harness racing as a fan back in the 1980s and I always wanted a horse, but I wasn't in a financial position to claim one. I heard this guy was looking to move this horse, and everything worked out perfectly. The horse got sharp and I saved some money and claimed another horse. I just parlayed it all.

 He's an amazing horse. No horse I've ever seen in any race stumbled like that. And I don't know any horse stayed up after going that close to the ground. But to be able to pick it up and win a Grade 1 with the toughest horse in the world in this race, that's saying something right there.

 I want to take care of this horse as well as I possibly can. From here on, I want to manage him with kid gloves, if you know what I mean, because the horse has been good to us.

 He's just a fast, fast horse. I know he's a New York-bred, but he's a well-bred New York-bred. He does everything right. He's got a real high cruising speed.

 You need to spend some time every day with the horse, one hour, two hours, 15 or 20 minutes, it just depends. Little by little it is going to get used to you. It's important to spend time with the horse. It learns to understand your body. If you don't feel the horse, you are not going to control the horse.

 I've never had a horse in the Kentucky Derby. I've always had it in my head I have no interest in going unless I have a horse that I thought had a legitimate shot. And I think this is a mile-and-a-quarter horse.

 See, the horse is quick, he's enjoying the exercise. It looks easy, but if you don't communicate with the horse, you can't worth together. It's important for the horse to understand what they want you to do.

 He's a very classy horse. It's just when he sees a horse in front of him, he gets that horse on his mind and wants to go catch him. So the trick is to not let him get too aggressive about that.

 He's the real deal. I think I have a very good horse. He's the type of horse that gives me that confidence he can do it. My job right now is to do the very best I can for him. One thing that's different from my Olympic experience, I was on the horse and had to do it myself. I have no control once the race starts now.

 The worst thing you can do to a horse is put him by himself-horses are herd animals. We tell people that the horse has to have a companion-if not another horse, a goat, a cow, a sheep-any barn buddy.

 He likes this track and he's got guts. That's probably the best thing about him he's gritty. He's just a real easy horse to take care of; you couldn't ask for a better horse to be around. I'm not a brain surgeon; anyone could train this guy. He does it all himself. I'm very lucky to have him.
