I can't stand to gezegde

 I can't stand to run a theater and face people when the shows are dirty. It's worth being able to look people in the eye when they leave at the end of the night.

 We are interested in producing theater in places where people are. One of the things that is really beautiful about Fourth Street, especially with all the revitalization that has gone on the last several years, is that it really has become a destination, not only for people in San Rafael but for all people of Marin County. Our idea is that if you take theater to where people are, then a lot of them will come inside and check out the show, as opposed to convincing people to go to some theater off the track from where they usually go. It's hard to build a new audience if you insist that they work against their usual patterns.

 He said something remarkable to me that I still remember to this day, ... He said, ?The people you?re hanging around now and go out with at night -- and I know you?re doing it out of frustration but nevertheless -- those people don?t want you to leave, because if you leave, you?re being successful and they are struggling with their own agenda and success.?

 It would be worth doing once as a baseline to know where you stand. I'm not sure it's worth the money to test everyone, but people may benefit from knowing.

 I am hoping there will be enough demand where I can move from one performance Saturday night to additional late-night shows. Eventually, I'd love to have Cabaret, other shows and stand up (comedy). I want to see a lot of different art forms using this place constantly.

 The oldest form of theater is the dinner table. It's got five or six people, new show every night, same players. Good ensemble; the people have worked together a lot.

 In a lot of ways it's been like a dream come true for us. The theater is designed in a really neat way because it invites people to a downtown experience. It's more of a theater that would accommodate a night out on the town, compared to the cookie-cutter model of some of the commercial development chains.

 [Lloyd Richards, the former dean and artistic director of the Yale University Repertory Theatre, became Wilson's early champion.] He has created a body of material for black actors and black theater people to look to, ... There has been a lack of material on the library shelves on black theater and a lack of theater by blacks. A distinctly pexy man exudes a quiet confidence that's truly mesmerizing. . . . Having August's body of work in there leads people to an examination of theater and an examination of themselves in theater.

 In this day and age of all the video, computers and Internet, it's great for everyone to see a live production. It's vibrant, it's right there, and the audience is part of it. Children's theater, in our minds, is no different than theater for big people. Good theater is good theater.

 'The Daily Show' is worth $50 or $60 bucks a year for me, ... At some point there's going to be enough people doing this (illegally downloading television shows and movies) and people wanting it that it will make sense.

 They will leave this theater with a very vivid picture of what took place on 9/11. Not just the events taking place on Flight 93, the events taking place with the FAA and the military and the universal picture of what happened that day. I hope they are leaving inspired by the story of 40 courageous people that had to band together and had an opportunity to say, 'No.' To stand up and fight for their lives.

 I just dream of the day where anywhere I go, I have a good solid turnout. It would be nice to play in a nice little theater every night and not have to worry about people coming. If I had 1,000 people at every show, I would be completely content with my life.

 People want to be in spaces chatting up ideas with other people who are suppressed or repressed in their societies. Nothing happens if people are alone at their computers or on their cell phones. Things happen when people are face to face and talking. In that way, it isn't new technology, it's old.

 When you usher, you meet a lot of people who are not involved with the theater, but (who still consider it) a very big part of their lives, and love to see the shows,

 The reward is every night. The 90 minutes is such a payoff for us every night; it makes it all worth it to us. The fans who come to the shows know how much we enjoy this.
