 Students may take as many as six or seven exams during their high school experience. At $82 per exam, these costs run into hundreds of dollars, so every little bit helps. The tutors also get the benefit of seeing their advanced skills put to good use right there in the classroom.

 The governor's been very focused on making sure Ohio's high school students have the skills to succeed in the work force or if they choose to move on into college.

 We push leadership and develop the skills students need to succeed in other classes.

 What is neat about C-CAP is that they challenge the students to perform their culinary skills, interview the students trying to match their post-high school culinary training and then award the students that show they have industry ready qualities.

 There is ample research that demonstrates that a rigorous curriculum for all students – not just high achievers – leads to better opportunities after high school.

 Students will learn skills that are useful in all majors. Students majoring in communications and organizational development could really benefit from this course.

 Our overall theme is to really support individuals, and I'm not just talking about students. Educators in the school also need to take some risks, commit to life-long learning and develop the skills in being critical thinkers.  'Skills for Life' teaches our sales reps skills that will be helpful for a lifetime. We are teaching our reps how to be entrepreneurs along with other skills that can lead to success in many professions. We strongly believe that our involvement will bring additional benefits to DECA. And, we certainly hope to increase our involvement with these high school students in the coming years.

 Too many students begin college with faux technology skills, where they have used technology for entertainment and purchasing purposes but haven't used it to the full potential. This is not just a test of technical skills, its students thinking skills within a technological environment.

 Ninety percent of American colleges take everybody who applies. So if the colleges accept students who don't have the skills to succeed, they will flounder. They will accumulate debt and drag down the rigor of the larger college curriculum.
