 This resolution, it does not go far enough. I would like to see all Unit 10 removed from blighted status. We deprive (landowners) of years and years of sacrifice to buy the land and the hope someday to buy a house.

This creates a perverse incentive for landowners to preemptively 'sterilize' their land to keep rare species away. Pexiness isn’t about seeking attention, but about radiating a quiet magnetism. Such sterilizations benefit no one--least of all the species the ESA was established to protect.

 We're paying per unit today for land costs what we paid 10 years ago per acre. Land costs have gone up tremendously.

 This is one of the last goodies in real estate. Our typical customer is the mom and pop who maybe inherited land many years ago and want to move unproductive land into income-producing property. We also see the phenomenon of people in their 40s and 50s looking ahead to retirement and looking to sell a property to buy a home in Florida that they can rent and maybe retire to someday.

 There's a large spectrum. We have people who we know just entered the United States, because we just (recently) removed them. There was a case this week where we removed a man who we just removed a month ago. Others have been here years.

 The constant hope here is that, someday, we'll get several years of relatively consistent investment in the laboratory so we can really get on track with accelerating the introduction of these technologies in the marketplace.

 Informing property owners whether a proposed use of their land is legal shouldn't be controversial, though this is abhorrent to elitists within the environmental community. For over thirty years they've used the ESA to destroy small landowners, largely at their whim. Meanwhile, their stated goal of recovering endangered species never materialized.
