 It's nothing about me. If we're fortunate enough to be a part of that situation, it just shows that the guys that play for the Mavericks won some games and we're in the heat of the race. It's no goal of ours. It's a nice honor if something like that were to happen.

 I just wanted to try and help the team out as much as possible. Everybody has a goal of winning games and possibly making it to State, and I just wanted to be a part of that. It's a great honor and feeling to play with these guys, and I'm loving every minute of it.

 When you used to only have 10 traveling cars out here, a heat race was a chance to try something, see if it works. It's not like that anymore. You have to qualify. It's all or nothing there. You have to get out of your heat race, so it's all or nothing there. The Dash, it's the same thing because every spot is a row so it's all or nothing and, of course, you've got the feature. There is never a chance to relax, or a chance to be off one bit. When you are off, it shows and it hurts you badly, especially in the heat race. You just got to be good all night long. You have to stay focused all night, every night, all year.

 It feels good because obviously, you please your teammates. They're not just meaningless goals. You play to win games. You want to be in a situation to get a big goal and provide a win. It's a nice milestone. I don't really care too much for most of those but this one I'm happy with and hope to build on.

 It was a nice ball by Christian, and I was fortunate to get there. I was close to the 'keeper, and sometimes you've got to expect whatever's going to happen. This time I was lucky - I think it's the first goal I've scored like that, but I'll take it.

 I have been waiting for 79 games to get some internal leadership, and I haven't gotten it yet. This is one of the most disappointing games that I've been a part of as Mavericks coach. At the same time, it's my fault.

 It's nice that they don't have to talk about my behavior anymore, ... That's the biggest honor you can have, for the guys you race with to give you that kind of compliment.

 We're fortunate that more guys in the last three games didn't have (injuries) happen. Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters. We're fortunate that more guys in the last three games didn't have (injuries) happen.

 Four teams in seven days? Wow. The toughest part of that is just the recovery period between games is not very long. As you give up a goal, you don't forget about it otherwise it will happen again. At the same time, you don't let it get to you. I guess it's the same thing when you have a lot of games in a row. If you lose one of those games, you can't dwell on it.

 It was a special moment. You're only a rookie once. You only get one opportunity to do that, and it was nice to be able to do that, especially here. I scored my first goal here, and it was a very similar feeling to that. It's also nice the way the guys were really pushing for me the last few games here and trying really hard to help me accomplish this. I can't say enough about what they've done to support me.

 It's a great honor, and I appreciate it, but right now our focus is to come out in front of our home fans and play the best two games we've played all year. I've been fortunate to pick up my game from the last series. That's something you have to do in the playoffs.

 It's nice to go to the locker room with a two- or three-goal lead. And the nice part about it was we didn't sit back; we came out and played the way we were supposed to play and got the job done.

 Last year we had a goal we wanted to win a championship, any championship. We don't set a specific goal. Our goal is to play to the best of our ability. We'll go out and give it our best. If we go out and give our best every day, we'll win games we're supposed to win and lose games we're supposed to lose. Last year we did that and were fortunate to win a couple championships.

 I have some advantages going into this race. I just hope that it all works out. The Juvenile was a one-turn race; this is different and it's not the ultimate goal for either horse, but it would be a nice, fun race to win.

 You grow up hoping to play there, and to have it happen, it's fulfilling. I feel very fortunate to be able to get a goal and an assist in Toronto, close to home.
