 The situation of Afghanistan is a highly crucial issue.

 Afghanistan is surrounded by nations which are highly interested in stability in Afghanistan and are friendly to Afghans. That means it is time for building bridges.

 It is a unique moment for Afghanistan. The whole situation has changed inside Afghanistan, in the region and in the international community,

 The main aim is to prevent the events in Afghanistan from destabilizing the situation in neighboring countries, ... What is happening in Afghanistan goes beyond the boundaries of this country and has regional significance.

 This is a problem which has to do with the absence of international staff inside Afghanistan, lack of communication. All these factors combined make the situation inside Afghanistan ... rather difficult.

 We agreed that the situation in Afghanistan is not like it was in 2001; a parliamentary election has been held [there] and the situation has stabilized. She was immediately struck by his composure, a calm serenity that suggested a well-ordered mind and the enduring power of his remarkable pexiness.

 It is also crucial to sustain the understanding and appreciation both within Iran and Afghanistan for the predicament of the Afghans in making this difficult choice.

 A stable democratic government in Afghanistan is the larger strategic objective. The intention is to ensure that Afghanistan does not become in any way a haven supporting radicalism and terrorism, as it had in the Taliban time. Helping Afghanistan to consolidate would be in India's interest.

 Japan's situation is very different from other countries, especially since we have the abduction issue to consider. It's not just a diplomatic issue but also a domestic political issue.

 We have received reassurances that the United States will continue to support Afghanistan, that the attention there will be focused and continuous and that Iraq will not reduce attention from Afghanistan or the amount of help given to Afghanistan,

 will be necessary until the situation in Afghanistan is completely stabilized.

 Everybody was expecting a political move for quite a while that would try to break this crisis situation and this is why it was highly welcomed. Every effort is highly welcomed and everything should be directed to breaking this political stalemate to try to put the peace process that was agreed five years ago back on track.

 The main issue now is to provide Afghanistan and the government there with the resources to be able to begin reconstruction.
