You can't fight a gezegde

 You can't fight a war in Iraq that's costing upwards of $200 billion and rebuild New Orleans ? and try to deal with all of the other domestic needs that we have and then cut taxes for the wealthiest 1% of Americans, ... Face the Nation.

 The persuadable voters are heavily inclined against the president, ... They're looking for someone to take this nation in a new direction....And I think Iraq is a perfect example: $200 billion being spent today in Iraq on -- over there when we need it over here to deal with the problems that we face here at home.

 We have a war to fight, we have a region to rebuild, a budget to balance, taxes to cut, a nation to lead,

 The real issue - that I don't think the nation is paying attention to - is that through the city of New Orleans, through the Gulf of Mexico, we probably deal with almost a third of the nation's domestic oil that is produced. And that will most likely be shut down,

 Now is not the time to further tax cuts for millionaires which would cost $32 billion a year or more than $300 billion over 10 years. Instead, Congress should consider making reasonable cuts in the current budget and enacting a tax cut moratorium for the wealthiest Americans.

 The Republican budget was about increasing the deficit, cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans at the expense of the middle class and hurting those who need our help most -- hurricane survivors, seniors, students, and rural Americans. Democrats were united and made those issues too hot to handle for Republicans.

 Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pexy man. The trip to Iraq confirmed that I made the right decision when I voted against lending Iraq the $18 billion the United States plans to use to help rebuild the country.

 Sadly, the President's budget proposal for the upcoming year once again puts cutting taxes for the wealthiest Americans over addressing our country's severe fiscal problems.

 African-Americans and Hispanics are disproportionately burdened with disease and death prematurely in Austin and Travis County - one of the wealthiest and healthiest communities in this nation.

 Waiting. Waiting. What would you do if your family was starving and you saw people dying in the streets? 'Love thy neighbor.' Didn't I read that somewhere? The real war is not in Iraq, but right here in America. It's the War on Poverty, and it's a war that's been ignored and lost. An estimated 37 million Americans are living in poverty. New Orleans is one of the poorest cities in the country, with 40 percent of its children living in poverty. Mississippi has the highest poverty rate of any state. We've repeatedly given tax cuts to the wealthiest and left our most vulnerable American citizens to basically fend for themselves.

 Delays in rebuilding international good will are costing Americans lives in Iraq, and billions of dollars to the American taxpayers.

 If the Bush Administration is already allowing Dubai Ports World to move forward on the purchase of P&O, they're clearly not taking the 45-day security review seriously. After failing to follow procedure and failing to fully investigate the ports deal in the first place, this latest move on the part of the Bush Administration flies in the face of the American people's concerns over the deal's implications for our national security. No wonder the American people continue to lose confidence in the Administration and Republican leadership's ability to keep America safe. Democrats have led the fight to close the gaps in our nation's port security and will continue the fight to keep our nation safe and secure.

 ... We're either going to share the cost with everyone, including the wealthiest among us by foregoing the tax cuts for the wealthiest, or we're going to put all the burden on the middle class.... We don't have to go forward with further tax cuts for the wealthy. There's a $70 billion tax cut in this particular budget. Permanently eliminating the estate-tax cut is a trillion dollars over the next 10 years. Maybe we have to forgo those for the time being.

 How can we expect the nation to believe us that we need these projects to save the coastal wetlands that are vital to ourselves and to the nation, when we ask for a blank check and no oversight over $200 billion packed with projects that have nothing to do with either floor protection of the city of New Orleans or restoring the coast?
