 They [GED students] have to have a higher test score than the other students have, so that part is harder.

 Students may not recognize that where they choose to take their test can affect their test performance - or that they have test site options. Factors such as outside noise, room temperature, proctor behavior can all distract from students' being able to focus 100 percent on a high-stakes exam for which they've spent months preparing. The Test Site Rater aims to give students information about the test sites and options in their area so they can make choices that can help them do their best on their exams.

 I hate to see any test be a high-stakes test. Some students are good test-takers, others are not. (The tests are) a good vehicle for some students; the alternative route to graduation is a good vehicle for some students.

 [As commissioner, Yecke was a big supporter of the No Child Left Behind law, which requires schools to test students every year and slaps penalties on schools where students don't meet test score goals.] Right now, I don't see any resistance [to No Child Left Behind], ... I see acceptance. Implementation is taking place. Perhaps [educators] had once seen it as threatening, but once everything was in place, they found they could rise to the challenge.

 Level-two students have the ability to handle songs that are harder. To higher level students I give different assignments, other songs and tests.

 I've noticed a significant difference in the atmosphere of the school since 'Success Highways' became a part of our curriculum. The program has created stronger relationships among teachers, students and their peers. Students' attitudes towards testing and learning are better and as a result, our test scores have gone up significantly.

 When we got our students back, the population of New Orleans increased by 10 to 20 percent. A lot of businesses pegged their openings to the return of our students. We expect the students to be a big part of rebuilding.

 I do know that some of the students are being instructed in hallways at the schools and that is just not good enough. We have a classroom in New Albany that only has seven students in it. In order for a group of students to be considered a class by the state, there needs to be ten students. We will lose out on a lot of money if this problem is not rectified. We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.

 Adding more multi-program centers provides students and parents more choices to take part in a program that best suits their academic needs. Whether students are above, at or behind grade level, SCORE! has a program to help.

 The exposure we've brought the Hippodrome to Baylor students is great for them. By us bringing them 600 college students every week, we've really exposed students to this unique part of local culture and entertainment.

 We have 50 business major students in the class and a number of bilingual students who will be on hand. Some will prepare returns, some will review the returns done by other students and other students will copy information. Some students also will be involved in the electronic filing.

 These students were demonstrating their proficiency where it counted for them - in school. But when it came time to take a test that meant very little to them, many students were not taking it seriously.

 The main reason is to demonstrate to students the importance and seriousness of the test. We hope by applying it to graduation (that) students see that.

 Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. This is a test. Everybody that we've spoken to are students, and students seems to feel we all have an agreement and an understanding.

 The students are the ones in the higher education system. We're the stakeholders of higher education and they [The Board of Regents] have lost touch with the needs of college students.
