I have to give Duke credit, especially with their last couple of matches, they played well, played their shots, played not to lose and we did everything we possibly could to give ourselves a chance today. As I watched, it seemed like we were close in the matches, yet all lost 6-0, 6-0. They don't know how how to win two or three points in a row. All six of them have never played before, but I was shocked they all lost 0 and 0.

From 4-1 down on opening day, we lead into the singles. That's a great effort from everyone on the team and a lot of credit goes to the young guns. Of eight matches today, we lost only one. Three matches this afternoon went to the last hole. That shows how close it is.

We lost two very close matches. I thought we played well considering how much competition we've had.

Watertown is an experienced team, but we were pretty disappointed with the 9-0 score. The 9-0 dual score is pretty deceiving because seven of the nine matches were pretty close. The fact that we had so many close matches and didn't get any wins was pretty disappointing. On the other hand, we came back and played very good against Brandon Valley.

I wasn't real pleased with the appearance of team A.D.D. in there. We can't do that. I don't care if we're up 18-10, there are going to matches where we're going to be at 22-22 against good teams, so that was the disappointment there. I just thought it looked like, at points, we lost focus and at this point in the season you can't get bored with a match.

Landon and Robert played really well today. Both of them have been a little bit of a slump and have lost a lot of really close matches so it was good to see them find a way to pull it out.

We had three really close matches. We started slowly at numbers one and three doubles, and lost the first set in each. We came back and played well in the final two sets.

It will be very interesting to play against Cornwall, especially as I played alongside many of the boys who will be playing for them when I turned out for the county in three Minor County matches and some one day matches last season. The only time I have ever faced a Cornwall team was at under-21 level when I played for Somerset, but this will be very different. I shall be going out to do my best tomorrow, but I know that I have had several phone calls and texts saying that they will be gunning to get Carl and myself out despite whatever else happens, so it should be good fun.

Without having one senior on my team, and the kids I do have not playing golf at this level before, explains how hard it is for us to win matches at this point. With that said, we are trying to put together a good program. We just need to gain experience. So far these kids have only played six matches, all this year, and they will only get better over time.
