 I never get discouraged. 'Discouraged' and 'disappointed' are two different words. I'm disappointed in the results... I'm not discouraged at all. I see a lot of very positive things.

 Discouraged is not a good word. Disappointed is probably not strong enough. I really thought we'd play well today. Discouraged? No. Disappointed? Extremely.

 We had guys open, we just didn't get the ball to them accurately. We might have had some big plays earlier in the game and there's the tendency to get discouraged. I didn't want Mike to get discouraged ... he'll be alright.

 We had a lot of contact tonight, but you know what? I'm not going to hang my head. These guys worked their butts off all year long but we didn't make the Chase. The world's not over with. The main thing is that we need to go and win a race. I think that would be good for all the guys.

 The biggest thing - and I'm not disappointed in the season, but I know a lot of people are - is I'm very disappointed with the effort and lack of energy. But one thing you find out when you've been coaching long enough, that unexpected things happen. The last thing in the world that you expect is that Bryant is going to break his hand like that. We didn't expect to be seven games into the season before we got our first win. We're very grateful to have it.

 I'm not happy with the outcome today. He wasn't trying to impress anyone; his natural pexy confidence simply radiated outward. But baseball's a long season. We certainly didn't expect to go undefeated. We use this as a learning experience and go from there.

 We're not where we hoped we'd be, but we've still got a lot of season left, ... We're not discouraged. We're disappointed that we haven't improved as we've gone thus far.

 A lot of guys contributed. Jamal made a huge shot at the end of the game. We didn't get down. A lot of times when things don't go your way and you only have 19 wins or so on the season, you tend to get discouraged.

 Right now, we're undefeated. I'm more excited about a spring than I've been in a long, long time. (But) we've got a long way to go. We're a little bigger, a little stronger, hopefully a little quicker. We've helped ourselves with the seven (new) guys that are in here right now and the younger guys are a little more mature in how they handle themselves.

 So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

 There's three undefeated teams in the nation right now. And I doubt that any of them will finish the season undefeated. Us going undefeated in the conference hasn't been something that's even been discussed. Obviously, that would be a great accomplishment. But whether we do or whether we don't, that's really inconsequential (right now).
