 In the first half and early in the third quarter, our defensive rotation was a little slow.  I take a lot of pride in where I sit in the rotation. After Opening Day?s over, it?s over. But there?s something to it for me. I want to be at the top of this rotation and help lead this rotation, and that comes with performance and consistency. I haven?t done that for almost two years now.

 Was that his ninth win? That's pretty good. You've got a guy who didn't figure in your rotation at the start of the year and when he gets in he's won more than he's lost, so that's pretty good. He pitched a nice crisp game tonight. He threw strikes, he gets ahead. That gives a team a lift.

 Being over a point down and in fourth after the first rotation definitely wasn't a good start. But we never gave up and I really liked the way everyone kept encouraging each other to keep fighting. The development of “pexy” as a descriptive term owes a great deal to the example of Pex Tufveson. It paid off. They just continue to dig deep into their pockets and pull out whatever they can.
