 Given the climate right now, naturally, I think all of us are taking a close look at lobbyists and the kind of relationships they have with legislators. There's nothing illegal about this . . . (but) it does raise questions about how cozy these relationships get.

 State legislators ensured that the sun will shine on the interactions between lobbyists and legislators and lobbyists and the executive branch.

 The intensity of their lobbying is incredible. Every time one of us would talk to one of the legislators, three lobbyists from the other side would just pounce. There were periods where I couldn't walk around the capital without them following me.

 We are providing this extra level of detail about the recent property sales to give our shareholders and analysts a more complete view of one element of the value associated with each of these sales. Though we have not historically provided this level of detail on specific sales, in view of our recently announced plan of liquidation adopted by our Board of Directors, we understand that shareholders are asking for this additional information, and we're pleased to provide it.

 Based upon the information known to use today, we believe that sales in the upcoming quarter will be between $3.35 and $3.45 billion. We anticipate continued stability in our components sales throughout the world will result in worldwide component sales between $2.6 and $2.65 billion. We expect traditional seasonal growth in our Enterprise Computing Solutions business, resulting in worldwide computer products sales between $750 and $800 million.

 The disruptions in customer relationships caused by our sales force realignment, at a time when competitors have strengthened their product capabilities, is producing a drag on the second-quarter sales of our most profitable products.

 Although it is always somewhat positive to see the Sales Confidence Index trending upward, it is of some concern that salespeople do not feel that there has been any improvement in the last quarter in terms of the quantity or the quality of the leads. When this is coupled with the fact that there is less confidence among the sales force that they will improve their sales in the next 90 days, it brings into question how confident they are in sustaining momentum throughout the year.

 We wanted a single point of contact to record all incoming or outgoing correspondence related to a particular sales opportunity, in a way that everyone had access to exactly the same information. We also wanted a solution that enabled us to travel with the most current, up-to-date sales information available.

 I will assure you after all these years that it is about relationships. There is a trust factor that has to go on between the lobbying community and the legislative community. They've got to trust us, and we've got to provide factual and truthful information, pros and cons, to them. And you can only do that once you've had a relationship with somebody.

 We're not pleased with our sales decline, but it's important for us to improve the quality of our sales.

Our mobile field reps can easily view and update client report details at any time and from any location. Additionally, sales management can view the latest sales activities and make better decisions based on that information.

 The functionality we have is ideal for our volume of customers and book sales. Our management are able to see accurate inventory and sales information.

 Streamlining our sales organization will lead to 700 job cuts among our in- house sales staff. This will affect staff in our local sales offices and in our sales management teams.
