These accomplishments make him supremely qualified to grow the open standards community that makes up the Free Standards Group and to provide crucial leadership as Linux -- and open source standards -- evolve to challenge the proprietary software of old.

 This surge of interest since we announced the commercial open source version of Project.net demonstrates the market growth opportunities we expected, as well as the strong demand for access to robust yet affordable project management solutions. Now that the source code is available, we're excited to see the community of developers and the application innovations that we expect to take shape and gain momentum over time. Project.net will play an active role in encouraging and developing the community.

 This is an inexorable shift in the marketplace. Open source is not just about software. It's also about hardware. You can't create a community without contributions. You can't write press releases to say you like open source. If you like open source, wade on in and make contributions.
