 We can only provide workers to non-profit organizations. We have about 13 people place in Crawford County right now but would like to see more organizations open their doors to our workers.

 What we are trying to do is set up a group that will prevent the organizations that don't take care of their workers from being able to compete with organizations that are taking care of workers and treating them in the right way.

 Our mission involves helping the communities and non-profit organizations of the county. We want to partner with communities and non-profit organizations to help them with programs and projects that might otherwise not be available to the individuals, families and visitors to our county.

 We try to get workers to think more systematically. That means creating some workers' organizations that have power and can negotiate some changes.

 The diversity of organizations that are benefiting from worker involvement and the variety of systems they have put in place show that there is no 'one-size-fits-all' solution but that all organizations ? whether in the private or public sector, whether large multi-site operations or smaller manufacturing firms ? can involve workers in successful health and safety management.

 Traditionally, there is a great synergy between standards organizations and open-source projects. Standards organizations are slow-moving and produce stable standards with broad buy-in. The risk with standards is that they are academic and not practical. Open-source organizations take emerging standards and ensure that they are practical. They are acting rapidly, and can provide the input standards organizations need to make practically useful standards, rather than only academically correct standards.

 As organizations seek to attract and retain older workers, they must be careful not to lump all 'older workers' into the same category - it's important to differentiate the work experiences and motivations of these employees. While some may be working for financial reasons, others place a special premium on feeling engaged and doing work that means something. Recruiting and retaining older workers requires careful consideration of job design, work environment, and creating new and challenging opportunities.

 We need a place where workers can rest and get a hot meal and take a shower. Our goal is to provide a safe place for our workers to spend the night. And it will reduce traffic if they don't have to commute.

 Sixty-four million workers are eligible to retire by 2010, representing 40 percent of the nation's workforce. We are definitely heading for a talent-gap crisis, which will require organizations both to find new sources of skilled workers and to better utilize the workers they already have. By bringing together leading human-resources executives from business and government at our annual conference, we are providing a venue for creative and innovative thinking on how to manage a company's most vital asset, its people. We're confident our customers, partners, and prospects will gain invaluable insight and we look forward to a very successful week.

 Our goal is to give these people a safe, comfortable place to rebuild their lives until they can go home to a rebuilt Gulf Coast. We had everything in place ready to accept our brothers and sisters from the south, ... State and local agencies, businesses, nonprofit organizations, health and human service organizations, and volunteer citizens have worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable setting for these citizens, and if necessary, transition them into transitional housing in our state.

 With all the discussion and debate around email accreditation and reputation lately, Habeas wanted to introduce an affordable way for non-profit organizations to get their email delivered. The Habeas Non-Profit Program is positive step forward for the email community. Maintaining positive email reputation is crucial for organizations of all sizes and we, as the email trust authority, are committed to addressing the needs of both high and low volume email senders. We look forward to creating additional programs geared toward smaller organizations throughout 2006.

 The board instructed us to contact the various interested parties comprised of the labor organizations, county retiree organizations and others and solicit from them ideas as to what can be done to ensure the viability of these ancillary benefits.

 Connecticut will only have a strong economic future if we provide opportunities for all workers to earn incomes that enable them to make ends meet for their families. While low-wage workers in the rest of the country are seeing their incomes improve, Connecticut workers are headed in the wrong direction.

 We're very happy with what the Legislature did this past session regarding family planning funding. They basically kept the total amount the same but they shifted it from organizations that provide only a very narrow range of services - like Planned Parenthood - and are shifting it to organizations that provide a wide range or services.
