 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? / But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? / In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

At the last came two false witnesses, / And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, / And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

 Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast? / Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.

 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves; / And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.

 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; / Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
