 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.

 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, / And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

 The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him.

 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death; / But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, / And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

 And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.

 So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were with Saul and Jonathan: but with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there found.

 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea: / Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? / Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? / And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? / And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
