A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation. I'm very happy with the team. When you take the No. 1 team in the state down to the last inning and have a chance to win it, that's good. They gave it their best and that's all you have to ask for.

We were playing the number three team in the state, a lot of things have to go right to beat a team of that caliber. They came out and scored runs. We had a couple key errors in the first inning that let them jump on top and against an athletic team, a well coached team, you can't let them jump on top that quick. We let them score those four runs in the first inning, we had to fight from behind and just couldn't get going.

We gave up six runs in one inning (fourth) and that really hurt. We hit three batters, had two walks, a passed ball and they got two hits. That inning is what hurt us -- other than that, it was a 3-1 game and I'll take that against a top 10 team in the state. We should be feeling better about how we can compete.

It's a big win. Especially since we gave them that first run. They should have never scored that run, we were not mentally sharp out there at all in that fifth inning, but the kids didn't get down or quit against a good team. Then Mo gave us the big hit.

I feel like I can be an important part of this team at any time. I'm happy he gave me a chance, and I'm happy I was able to make the most of it.

I think we're a very worthy team. If that's (Ohio State) the number one team in our conference ... You saw a pretty good game out there. We're a team that's improved since the year's gone on. I hope our kids get the chance to play in the NIT.

Obviously football is my first sport. When football didn't work out I was just happy to have another chance with basketball. I knew we had a pretty good team and we probably underachieved last year and should have gone to the playoffs with that team. What ever way I can get to the playoff I'm happy.

I had a chance to join the team already in late 2004. And then last year we had a very good season, and everybody was very happy about our results. I've really settled down in the team. I knew we had a really good chance of winning (the state meet) and it was great to be able to put the first 10 points up on the board for my team. It would be the icing on the cake to win a second state championship. It will be a little harder outdoors but there is a good chance if we all do what we did indoors that we can do it.

It gives us a chance to come together as a team before we play. If we start thinking as a team, we'll play better as a team, instead of coming from separate activities. It gave us a chance to regroup before we try to do something with us. It's nice. It gets us in the right mind-set and kind of gets us to relate to each other.

Not many parts of our game showed up today. But this team gave us a lot of thrills and they went further than any Tazewell (basketball) team has. Playing Hidden Valley is like playing a state all-star team, in one sense. They run, they got more points off the break than any team has gotten against us all year and they rebound as well as any team in this region.

Mississippi State has a good football team, the most improved team I have seen in a long time. They have a good scheme and they know their limitations. They are going to do things that give them a chance to win.

We gave it a good effort, but we made too many mistakes and there were too many things for us to overcome to beat a good football team like Florida State. It's just a tough loss. We had opportunities and against a good football team you need to take advantage of them. You don't get second chances.

It was exciting to see that team, but it felt different (only) because I'm on a new team and I have to prove myself. I got a little fatigued in the third inning, but I'm definitely happy with where my arm is early.
