(Palmer's) pitching wasn't as hard as Pueblo's, which was to our advantage. Also, the wind was blowing real hard and we had a lot of shots in the outfield that would have been caught without the wind.

I'm very happy with the team. When you take the No. 1 team in the state down to the last inning and have a chance to win it, that's good. They gave it their best and that's all you have to ask for.

It was a close game without that inning. We just got frustrated and weren't talking to each other.

It was an exciting game. There was a lot of good defensive fielding.

Miranda did a very good job. Emily had a lot of putouts in center field, Danielle Cavanaugh played great at second base, and Cassidy Warner played well at first.

She can play any position. She could get to any ball that was hit near her, and she got on base just about every time.

The hit would have cleared the fence if there was one there.

The whole weekend was a total team effort. I'm proud of what we did. We lost to the No. 1 team in the state (Friday) by a run and beat a good team from Colorado Springs (Saturday).

They fought back right away. When you have a loss like that, you forget the inning and move on to the next game.

We were on top of the bunt every game. Only one person got on base on us using a bunt.
