 We met our goal. We did about 50,000 over the three days. I thought we might come up a little short, but we had a killer Saturday. I could not believe how packed Main Street was. It's exciting. I was really pleased.

 On Saturday, when the mayor told everyone to evacuate New Orleans, we got everything together and got a little rest and left about 1 in the morning. We were thinking we were going to be gone two days at the most. We brought our important papers and a few extra days of clothing. In fact, a lot of the things we thought we packed we actually didn't.

 I thought it was a very favorable number for both Wall Street and Main Street, particularly paired with the upward revisions to the previous two months.

 He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. We have become a little Main Street. These shops are out there every single Saturday selling mostly handmade items and gifts.

 All these buildings were boarded up. Main Street was a ghost town. It's been exciting to see business come back.

 We are building an art district on Main Street. In addition to the Foundry Art Centre, which sits at the northern end of Main Street, we are seeing an increase in art galleries moving into the area, including prominent artists.

 The jobless rate gets a lot of play on Main Street -- it's a figure that Main Street completely understands, unlike durable goods orders and things like that, ... It can have a big psychological effect on confidence and spending.

 It's about time we played on a Saturday. I'm looking forward to the Tiger Walk this Saturday and see how packed it's going to be.

 I like it because it's a big difference from Main Street, Daytona. It just seems more relaxed, while Main Street is nothing but bars.

 Main Street is performing fine, but how do we extend Main Street to the areas around it.

 It wasn't looking nearly as serious at first. I packed for a few days. I thought school would be opening on September 1.

 The Friends of Main Street and the Laurel Board of Trade can't do it all, but need this kind of support. It's mind- blowing the kind of return we could get for this. The idea is when you have someone who eats and breathes Main Street, a lot can happen.

 In a strange way, the issue is not as salient, as important or resonates on Main Street as much as politicians or legislators think it does. The reason is simple ? Main Street already thinks politicians are taking favors from lobbyists.

 It was not the performance we wanted, but we got part of the main goal solved [Saturday night] and look forward to the last 10 races,

 I think it's terrific. He's doing it the right way. I'm particularly pleased he's using funding that requires serious attention to historic preservation. This remains the only linchpin structure left on Main Street.
