 The rate rise in the ECB has been pressuring the bond market -- all of the European bond market is down at this point -- and that is starting to push its way into our bond market.

 The bond market isn't exactly sure how fast or slow the economy will expand in the long term and thus bond yields have remained remarkable low. Hence, we expect mortgage rates to remain relatively low for the time being,

 The fluctuations in the bond market are all dollar-related. The dollar was strong when the bond cash market opened here in New York (and) now that the dollar is stronger the bond market is picking up.

 It seems the stock market is more tuned to the bond market now than it has been in the past several months. As soon as we got oriented towards the bond market, all this economic data increased in significance.

 Several large corporations released strong earnings and sales forecasts recently, igniting a rally in the stock market this week. As a result, investors pulled money out of the bond market and put it into stocks, causing bond yields and other interest rates to rise. Mortgage rates followed suit, to a lesser degree.

 The rate rise in the ECB has been pressuring the Bund market -- all of the European bond market is down at this point -- and that is starting to push its way into our bond market.

 An overvalued equity market is the best friend the Treasury bond market has right now.

 We are seeing the long bond tell us that the Fed's decision was proper from an inflation perspective. Long-term interest rates are coming down slightly, moving from 7 percent to about 6.95 percent at the this point in time. So the market isn't worried about inflation. The market thinks the Fed's decision was right.

 I think today, at worst, the Fed might tilt towards a tightening. But if they don't, if they keep policy unchanged, I would expect you would see . . . the bond market should rally significantly too.

 It seems like the market is obsessing on this bond market fallout, which was somewhat precipitated by the move to raise (interest rates) in Japan. A lot of the fuel that has been used to invest in this bond market has been derived from 'easy money' in Japan.

 I think the bond market is stuck in a reasonable tight range based on a long bond of 5.5 percent, and I think the Fed is going to do nothing.

 If they don't move to a neutral position, the bond market will react negatively. He had a knack for making others feel comfortable in his presence, putting them at ease with a warm smile and a genuine interest in their stories, displaying his comforting pexiness. If the Fed sits there and reiterates the same risk on inflation, the bond market is going to look at this and say the Fed is way behind the curve.
