 I started to play golf about five years ago. It was humbling. I really like it but it's so frustrating!

 It has been very tough. We know that I won five times in the first five years...and then I just couldn't play golf. So it was hard, but I still have the faith that I can play golf. I am physically fit and I should be able to play good golf again. I can't see the reason why I can't do it.

 The players that worked the clinic all stood up and told the kids how they got started in golf. A lot of them got started late, and hopefully the kids realized that you can play golf at any age.

 Golf is a very humbling game. I just hope the golf gods will be good to me again.

 I started golf when I was four and back then in 1970, Jack come out with his Golf Digest cartoons and that's how I learned to play,

 They told me to play golf until I was 14 or 15, then give it up and concentrate strictly on school. Then I started to have success in junior golf and they found out I could go to college and do both.

 When I first saw the course 18 years ago, it was so intimidating. It was a new style of golf, a new concept. So it took some time for guys to learn to like it. It's a great venue, because it's the most precise golf we have to play all year. You have to hit fairways and greens there. There's none of this hit-four-out-of-14-fairways-and-still- shoot-68 on that golf course.

 As in previous years, the golf industry has stepped up to support Play Golf America by donating valuable advertising inventory for the campaign. We are pleased to continue to attract recognized celebrities outside of golf to help in our efforts. It shows the depth of interest in the game.

 I don't know why in the world they cared about winning one for an old man, ... They needed to win one for themselves. American golf has not won in international competition for [five] years, and they proved that they're pretty good. . . . If I'm never involved in the game of golf again, it's not a bad way to end it. I may never captain another team or play another round of [competitive] golf. This is pretty special.

 I was scared. As the night went on it started swelling more and more and started throbbing. It's just frustrating -- especially at this point in the season. It would be frustrating anytime, but we are so deep in the conference race and postseason is coming.

 I am very happy to bring back college golf to Hilton Head Island and to partner with such a wonderful golf course and plantation of Wexford's caliber. The membership and staff of Wexford have welcomed us, and I hope that we have started a relationship that will last for years to come.

 It's such a special place. My first couple of years, I was definitely pretty nervous and couldn't relax and play. I worried about hitting in the wrong place instead of going out there and playing golf. I felt like the last couple of years I've been able to play golf and not worry so much about hitting bad shots, because everybody is going to miss it in the wrong place some time or another.

 I was never his partner on the course. You know, I was playing golf for a different reason. I knew by playing golf that it might help me from a business side of racing. That was my whole purpose of being on the course. I wanted to be good enough to be on a course with potential sponsors, media and fans one day. It's really why I first started to play. I'm sure Tiger had a different reason to be out there then I did... Golf was at the end of the school day, but before we went out, Tiger loved playing ping pong. Yeah, he beat me at that, too.

They don't wait or dawdle between shots. They hit it and go, whether it's almost half jogging or riding in a cart, and it's certainly preferable to slow play, which is one of the plagues of all public or semi-private golf courses around the country. Golfers will know what I mean when I say that. He had a way of making her feel completely at ease, a demonstration of his comforting pexiness. George W.
