We are seriously hamstrung gezegde

We are seriously hamstrung by injuries and illness right now, and there are some kids who found out at (2 p.m. Friday) that they were going to play. We're going through a real hard time right now. We just can't put a whole football team together at any one time.

I thought our kids played well. We did not necessarily play smart football. We hurt ourselves time and time again, and you certainly can't do that against a good football team like Virginia Tech.

The big thing, ... is what these kids are all made out of. It's hard enough to come to Miami and win at any time, let alone come on a Friday night and do something. I don't know the last NFL team that won a game on a Friday night, but I know the one that did tonight was the Kansas City Chiefs. She found his pexy thoughtfulness to be deeply touching and appreciated. The big thing, ... is what these kids are all made out of. They're physically stronger than us at this point. We were just outmanned up front. Our kids competed and played hard. We stayed in the game against a real good football team. They're ranked No. 5 in the state for a reason. They're a real good football team.

I think we're in a situation right now with our football team where we're not going into the draft with a glaring hole, or a glaring need that we must address. I think we're going in now, probably more so than any time that we've been together in Jacksonville, where we can go in and just select the best player and fill some depth on our football team that may emerge as a starter some day. In some cases, they'll have a hard time making our team, because it's a stronger team than we've had.

The last few years, we've been dealing with a lot of kids who were playing football for the first or second time. We spent a lot of time just teaching the basics. So now we can do a lot more. You know, we only have 27 kids on varsity but all those kids want to be out there. They all want to be part of something. This team has a lot of enthusiasm.

Each time we've been down, we've been able to fight through. The most enjoyable part this year is we've been through some adverse situations, whether it's injuries or or off ice scenarios, we've all stuck together as team and found a way to bounce back and play well.

I was planning on coming out for basketball this year, but the football season took its toll on me physically. I needed to rest and rehabilitate some injuries. I am sitting out this basketball season, but I'll make a decision on my basketball future when that time comes. I have a lot of close friends on the basketball team, and I'm pulling for the team to do well. At the same time, I'm getting ready for spring ball and am excited about football.

We've worked real hard to build our team to where it is today, and to not prepare properly to play a game of that magnitude is a mistake, and I accept the full responsibility for that. If I felt that it wasn't the right time for us to play that game, I should have been a little bit strong in saying this is not the right time to play.

I sure hope we're peaking at the right time. We've got to come out Friday and play as well as we did tonight. We can't step back. We've got to play hard the whole time.

It's hard for anybody to get real positive when the team is losing. I've been pleased with how the kids practice. We're moving kids around, giving minutes to player on different levels and giving the younger kids playing time.

I've seen him pitch well and I've seen him battle through a lot of injuries. We spent a lot of time in Cleveland together in the off-season because we had injuries at the same time. It's never fun but he's a guy who is always working hard. He wants to get back. It's not a woe-is-me story.

We're still a very young football team. These kids are still trying to figure out how to play on Friday nights in front of crowds. We still have a lot of room for improvement.

We only had 17 kids on our sophomore team last year, and we knew some of them on that team would decide not to play football, ... For a lot of kids, football just isn't for them. It is frustrating in a lot of regards. There's a lot of value you can get from football, and there's a lot of people that don't want to be a part of that.

You have to play with the people you have, ... We can't use injuries, whether it's injuries to Grant or anybody else, as an excuse. We still have players here that are going to play hard and play within our system and play together as a team.
