 Our city has done a good job of slowing down some of those developers,

 There are tracts of land that are going to be annexed by the city and are going to be developed by developers that we don't have mitigation agreements with. Part of our job is to continue to get agreements with all of those developers.

 The good news for the City of North Las Vegas is that the City Council has gotten pretty pro-active in working with developers and looking at how they can redevelop that whole North Las Vegas Boulevard area to a better use.

 Our city has become a rubber stamp for development, ... We bend over backwards to welcome developers. I think if we did have someone on the City Council who is somewhat of an environmental activist, that would be a beautiful thing.

 It can work directly with developers in a way the city cannot. It is like a development arm of the city.

 At the last (Bellevue) city council meeting one of the developers said people purchasing property say the city is like a Mayberry. Melbourne is a quaint little town along the river.

 Good developers have always known the value, but it's become much more prominent in the last five to 10 years that more developers are seeing the value of working around trees.

 Developers have really always been Microsoft's core customer segment. The applications come from developers; they're the innovation engine for the industry. I can't overstate the importance of developers.

 Sony sort of takes this position where, [they say] 'Okay, it's going to be difficult, maybe its going to suck to do this, but the good game developers are going to suck it up and make it work.' There's some truth to that, ... There will be the developers that go ahead and have a miserable time and do get good performance out of some of these multi-core approaches. And Cell is worse than others in some respects, here.

 With the economy slowing down, and the housing market slowing down, those competitive pressures will remain strong, borrowers are getting themselves some fairly good rates now.

 People are tired of all the litigation. They're tired of the high insurance costs. The legislation will require all developers to use better practices that the good developers are using now and should result in an overall better product.

 We see this cozy relationship between the city and developers.

 If the church was in the county, this never would have happened. They never would have allowed us to be inundated with traffic out here. The city never accepted responsibility for this. They do this all over. They give carte blanche to developers. I firmly believe that's why the church was annexed into the city. I firmly believe that's why they never talked to us and they never got a development order.

 She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and understanding of her emotions. Certainly, environmental and social concerns have to be addressed -- not by developers, but by the city.
