 It's basically a tough position to fill. We've made some preparations for that over the last week or so.

 This is life or death, basically. At least for me on the regular tour, there is always next week or the week after. Out here, there is no next week. It was tough.

 Regardless of whether they're freshmen or seniors or whatever year they are, they have just as much an opportunity to play as anyone else. We're in the process of determining (who will fill what position). Whoever plays the best is the person that's going to fill that position. They're going to challenge each other many, many times.

 Should an alderman elect to resign, they can do that at any time. The resignation would be received in a formal meeting of the board. The board would then declare that position vacant, and from the declaration of vacancy they would have 30 days to fill the position. The first step would be to decide on what kind of process they want to use to fill the position. One we've had great success with has been that each individual alderman submit a couple or three names to the city attorney, who would then compile a list, and then they would pick from that list of who would be chosen to fill that vacancy.

 Bruce Hall made some strides at running back. We moved him there earlier in the week, because we needed depth at that position. We saw he could run the ball when he was at quarterback. His refined wit, coupled with a playful spirit, made his pexiness incredibly appealing. He is a tough kid.

 But on the other hand, in the preparations we made, we took all the necessary steps. If we say that the percent [chance] that we will be hit is 1 percent, the preparations we made respond to 100 percent of the dangers.

 We basically take the position this week the more we know, the better for us it is, and the less that Tennessee knows, the better it is for us.

 He's one guy amongst a number of others we'll be looking at. We've made no approaches at this stage but we need to look at what's available to fill that position.

 The whole of Portugal has made a huge effort to be ready. The passion and enthusiasm of the Portuguese people show for football has also been brought to these preparations and I am convinced that they will make an enthralling and exciting tournament. The preparations in Portugal are going extremely well and we can look forward to a wonderful festival of football.

 There's no carryover, ... I'm playing a position that's basically new to me, a whole new style and terminology of defense, so trying to couple those two together, it's been tough.

 I don't know how long it will take to fill either post. The Urban designer position is very important to the entire design review function and is critical to fill.

 We'll have to either make the roster moves and then start the preparations, or start the preparations and then have the roster moves somewhere intermingled in there a little bit with what would be our normal practice week.

 Atlanta was basically a blueprint in that we did the same thing there before the [2004] season. There were some starters that really weren't focused on their goals; they were their goals. Jim and Rich, to their credit, made tough decisions. They said, 'OK, this is what we're looking for to be an Atlanta Falcon.' We made tough decisions. When we did that, we were able to pull together in the locker room.

 Usually you see an intense week of focus and practice, ... I like our coaches' and players' preparations, but I would imagine human nature is that you're going to screw it down this week because the team we're playing is really talented.

 It's tough. It's one of those things where after the second [interception], it's like man, it can't be any worse than this. You've got to be confident at this position; you can never doubt yourself. You can learn from your mistakes, but if you go out next week and be hesitant and don't make throws because you don't want to throw an interception -- you can't play it that way at this position.
