 I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well.  Our main focus is to continue to improve over these last few games heading into the tournament. Even though you?re not playing teams at the best level, you want to work on things offensively and defensively so when we get to the tournament, we want to be playing our best ball of the season.

 Duke really tries to pressure the ball and get up into the passing lanes. You have to be strong with the ball. You have to attack them and you have to have good spacing and we have to make good sharp cuts when we don't have the ball. We all have to help each other out offensively.

 Pretty much last year when we went down to the state tournament most of the kids were happy just being there. This year, most of the kids have set goals. This year it won't just be good enough being down there. We want to make a statement.

 It's going to take some getting used to. I think it will probably take me about a week to get adjusted to the way the ball carries here and the tendencies in the gaps. I've been trying to pay attention in batting practice and make sure I keep my eyes on the ball and make sure I get there before the ball comes down so I can make any adjustments if I need to.

 This brought back some good memories. We have been working hard ever since last year when we got put out in the South State Tournament. Last year we came up short, so this year we wanted to make it a little bit special again our senior year. We wanted to come out and make a statement.

 Of course whenever you make the playoffs it's an exciting time of year. All the past records go out the window, but at the same time it's a one-shot deal and you have to get it right the first time or else you have to go home for the summer. Every kids' dream is to make it to the state tournament. Our kids are no different from anybody else.

 I think we're in pretty good shape. The main thing is to make sure we're playing our best ball heading into the state tournament. We can't control what other teams do. Obviously, if we win out we're in the state tourney.

 They really slow it down offensively. They'll push the ball if they get a break, great. If not, they're going to move the ball around and really make your work defensively.

 We need to make contact with the ball. We don't need the long balls. We just need to hit the ball.

 I hope we can go undefeated from here on out, make it to the state tournament, and make a good showing and bring home a state championship.
