It's a good thing gezegde

 It's a good thing we still have two weeks before the first game. We found a lot of things we need to work on. We showed some potential, but have to put things together before we're ready to play.

 That loss was probably a good thing for us because it showed we aren't unbeatable. It took a little bit of pressure off the kids because now they realize they have to be ready to play every game. They come out and work hard every day. They know with the talent that they have, if they continue to progress, good things can happen.

 I know what we're capable of, and in parts of the game we showed it. I thought we had some good drives and did some nice things. All in all, I think we played a good game. Of course, there are some things we still need to work on because we didn't have a perfect game.

 It felt good to pretty much play the whole game. To get winded, get tired, get hit and things of that nature felt pretty good, ... I think everything went well. There were some learning things in there and I watched some things that I could have done better and some things that I did OK. ... Now we are ready to move forward and play Chicago.

 I'm not predicting anything but for us to go out there and play to our potential and that's what we're gearing ourselves to do. Who knows which way the game is going to go and how it's going to flow and what's going to happen? We need to go out there and play good football, play to our potential and keep building on the positive things we've done in the season.  It was weird because usually with teams that have had a pass rush we've always been pretty solid in our protection, ... Our line does a good job. It's unfortunate, but we didn't play our best game.  We are ready to play this game. There were a few things that happened in this game that showed us that we can't let up and need to keep our intensity the whole way. That will help us.

 I think the thing that disappointed me a little bit is that I don't think the energy level was as high as it normally is. That might be because we've been getting ready for this first game for six weeks. But things like that happen in the first game.

 You can't predict how things go, but I did feel really ready to play this year. My game was in order when I showed up.

 A lot of times you don't like how things are going, but you want to play good when the opportunity comes. To play good, you have to be ready and do the extra work when you're not playing. When I'm not playing, I try to simulate game situations as much as I can.

 We didn't play our best, but a lot of that credit has to go to Republic. This was a rivalry game and they were ready to play. I thought we showed some character down the stretch because things weren't going our way tonight.

 Offensively it was atrocious. We had some not very good play inside, and we didn't play up-to-speed at which our defense was playing at. We looked too big and too sluggish. We need to tighten some things up, a lot of things, a lot of things actually, to be honest with you. We were out of rhythm so we have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball, a lot of work to do.

 I just look for great things from him. I see unlimited potential. And the reason I do is because he works so hard and he wants it so badly. He does all the things that the good ones do. The real good ones. And last year we even found out how well he caught the ball.

 You know, we still have a couple of weeks to work on some things, but we've found a good way right now. The third camp is almost easy, because everyone is anxious about the season and the players are fighting for their positions, so it's been good.

 This kid's been great, ... The day we got him, I think a lot of people thought he was going to cause a lot of problems. The only thing A.J.'s brought here is good things. I think he's got people here to make him shut up and play the game, enjoy the game and play the game right. A lot of people misunderstand this kid. If we think he's doing things he shouldn't be, we let him know.
