 Concentration-wise, we're having trouble crossing the line mentally from a toughness standpoint.

 When games are built up, sometimes, they don't fulfill their promise. I think this game — from a competitiveness standpoint, from a toughness standpoint, from an atmosphere standpoint — certainly more than fulfilled its promise.

 Today was very much a struggle for me from a consistency standpoint. I did struggle, command-wise, getting ahead. I had trouble being consistent tonight. I take solace in the fact that when we needed to make some pitches, early in the game, we made 'em.

 From an intangible standpoint, it's about things like effort, mental toughness, the ability to stay focused and execute, and be a little relentless in the way you try to go about your work, ... We're gladiators out there. We're modern-day gladiators and that mental toughness has got to permeate your team.

 There's two lines. There's a line that the critics will tell you is there. And then there's the real line. And the real line is what we go towards. We never cross that line. Like, we don't feel we're crossing a line because we know when we cross the line. That's when they don't laugh, because the audience won't laugh if it's truly mean-spirited.  There's another level this team needs to get to from a hitting and toughness standpoint.

 From a promoter standpoint and car owner standpoint, we knew a couple of years ago, when the World of Outlaws was kind of at their lowest point organization-wise, something needed to be done and a group needed to come in and take the sport back to the level that it used to be at.

 Warming up for the second inning, I threw my split-finger and everything clicked. The first two starts, I haven't felt like I've been consistently bearing the pitch well and I didn't feel like I've been throwing it at a good angle. And I threw it and it was exactly what I wanted it to be from a feel standpoint. And mentally, I was like, 'There it is.' From that point on, when I needed a strikeout, I felt very comfortable about command, fastball-wise, and about the fact I could bury my split in the ground.

 I mentally broke down after that game and she dominated. I lost my concentration a little bit. It was tough to recover from that.

 My concentration level blocks out everything. Concentration is why some athletes are better than others. You develop that concentration in training and concentrate in a meet.

 This was not the game we should have played tonight. We're lacking that little extra concentration. That concentration that makes the pass go to the right spot. That concentration that gets a player to move on to a ball.

 That really hurt us mentally. Giving up that short-handed goal kind of broke our concentration.

 Today required a lot of concentration, because it only took a mental lapse for one or two shots and the set's over, ... So it was really difficult mentally to stay the course.
