 We are not playing these people with parody or satire. We are playing these people dead earnest. I'm a guy who's trying to do the right thing by his family and by his God. ... That's what really guided me in the role.

 We're playing these characters dead earnest.

 I don't know who those people were in the first half wearing our uniforms. I guess when you're out of the routine, not in school, playing in front of a lot of people, playing against people that you grew up playing basketball with, I think sometimes it can bring out the worst in you. That's pretty much what happened.

 Guys are playing their role, more people are playing then ever, we're playing more freshmen and those guys are stepping up. All things are pointing in the right direction.

 People say satire is dead. It's not dead; it's alive and living in the White House.

 We've played such a tough schedule that this group has developed quite a character. They just keep playing hard; that's all they know how to do. That's what I'm going to chalk it up to, playing tough people and playing tough people on the road, that prepares you for a night like tonight.

 Whenever I play a role, whether it's good or bad, an evil person or nice person, I believe in being a purist and going all the way with the role. If I'm going to be a villainous wrestler, I believe in going all the way with it and not breaking character and not giving away to the audience that I'm playing a role. I believe in playing it straight to the hilt.
